Even on the fabulous Penelope whom I admire, I think there’s too much going on there.
I tried the off shoulder jacket on but I didn’t get it because the sleeves were too baggy. It is a cute jacket otherwise. I am a sucker for statement necklines though I really need to stay away from jackets that can only be worn closed. I tend to like to drape my jackets over my shoulders.
I agree with Ari. I don't think the off the shoulder jacket is particularly versatile if that's what you're looking for. I don't like it with a shirt underneath. I think it should be worn very fitted with a dramatic flowing skirt, a precious necklace, and heels for special events. I would wear my hair up to emphasize the neckline. Very regal look. If I were in the market for a special event piece, this would be on my short list.
