Love the off the shoulders jacket on you also, Hanash - follow your heart.

And it seemed to me that someone had put a blouse underneath it as an adaptation? Can’t find the pic/ref.

Oh yes - that does look good!

Thank you so much for all your words of wisdom and encouragement  This forum really is a go-to place for sincere advice and I feel so overwhelmed that people far away from me are taking out time to answer my queries - very humbling. I think I'm pretty set on the off shoulder and I'll update with photos of the final purchase for sure! I asked for both to be held for me so I can decide when i return to the store.

Yes this would be my first Chanel jacket purchase - they are so dificult to choose between!! I tried both and they were equally amazing. Here are some photos...
All the ladies commented more than what I wanted to share such as the Devil Wears Prada look. I totally agree that you look fantastic on both particularly the off shoulder one, which is in fact stunning and head turning. Two things I would like to add: 1. Since I have the sequined one, I would like to say that the tweed is loose, likely to show wear, pull, etc, but easily fixable by a needle. In addition, it's hook closure instead of buttons. I don't mind as I prefer it's light weight casual open look with jeans. The tweed is beautiful to spark joy, comfortable and hide all the bumps of me as an aging lady especially after a full meal so I can enjoy it whatever the occasion with kids, wine tasting, or just relax at the beach. The off shoulder one seems dressy, but I have seen people posted pictures wearing it like a boat neck not revealing or shirt underneath. Material wise, I don't know, it seems embossed wool instead of tweed like the white jacket I got from 21a, which is more fitted, i.e. restricted, but polished look.

I have to pop in here and say the off the shoulder looks stunning on you. It is a piece you will treasure forever.

Question for you ladies who have this jacket- i’m seriously considering it and really wearing it (for work, weekends, and truly enjoying it). my concern is i always carry my purse in the crook of my arm and i’m concerned that it would ruin the material being that it has sequins and the tweed seems a little loose. what has your experience been? TIA!!!

I tried this one and honestly I do not see it as a workhorse jacket. I don’t think it is sturdy enough.

I tried this jacket and loved the fit. Unfortunately I think this is a special occasion jacket. I don’t think I can pull off the shirt under it, for some reason. Yes, one can wear it with jeans, but then again it still doesn’t look casual to me. I don’t think the fabric is fragile.

I agree.. I think if you got the version from the same season that's all black maybe (similar pockets and fit) - it's wound more tightly. The tweed in this one would definitely get snagged on and look loose over time.

I purchased this but haven't got a chance to wear it yet because it is still way too hot in my location. Echoing ELIZAXUAN's comment earlier, it is more of a loose tweed and you will see small piece of thread that may come lose. This doesn't concern me too much as I can fix it while watch TV or send it in to a Chanel store to fix it in a few year's time, however I know some people just dislikes it.

I personally love this jacket as it is a very versatile piece for my wardrobe and I can wear it to work, with jeans or a nice dinner out.

There is also the black jacket with red trim that you can consider.

@shopper_girl,With a chanel boucle or looser weave jacket, I prefer not to carry a 30B/28 K on the crook of my arm. I prefer not to even do a cross body or shoulder unless the wool is hard finish or the bag is quite light. (I sadly rubbed off my favorite dolce leopard calf hair jacket this way)

Yes, one can wear it with jeans, but then again it still doesn’t look casual to me. I don’t think the fabric is fragile.

Re off the shoulder jackets, perhaps not casual, but somewhat tongue in cheek enough not to be too serious or elegant? Referencing, dress up vintage in ones own, or mother’s, closet? IMO, the off the shoulder kind of falls into a stylized dressing genre, along with, say, French school girl; safari etc.

I wear dressy things with casual things, like shorts, Birkenstock’s or UK doc martens, but my style neither exactly elegant nor casual, but some space in between.

I wore my off the shoulder Dior jacket, beige shorts, H della cavalleria, and leather Birkenstocks to Bouluds pavilion (there is no required dress code there or at most restaurants I go to). I’d wear the same outfit shopping in a boutique but probably not if I was going to Whole Foods

Re chanel fitted denim jackets, I was thinking of this thread when we went out to dinner last night with my mother. I was actually going to ask her if I could borrow back my chanel Denim jacket that I bought years ago. I didn’t think either of us ever wore it bc the trend was more for dark denim. It had a baseball ribbed cotton collar and the lining was colorful chanel letters that could be folded up (the sleeve bottoms had zippers). But she walked into Bar Masa wearing it, so I guess I’m not asking for it back lol. Here’s a quick snap shot
