I tried both as well and took the all back. I thought it ran a little big and took a 40 and altered it. I have pictures of both on the thread if anyone wants to see them.Sure. Good luck on finding your perfect size. FYI, these two fit similarly. They both have silk lining, a little puffy shoulder. The difference is mainly the material. The black one has better quality tweed I think, very tightly woven, thick and not giving. The sequined one is more giving, lighter, loosely woven tweed. I find both arms are loose. Love the lion buttons of both.

I loved the fit of the black jacket on you even without the alteration. I hesitated in the beginning about this jacket due to the red trims of the pockets and puffy shoulders, but it looked so nice on you in your picture so I reconsidered and added it. Turned out that I love it more than the white and sequined one I got from 21a. The tweed is so beautiful and seems lasting with low maintenance. I still wonder how come the shoulders did not look puffy on you. Maybe I should get alteration done a little to the sleeves.I tried both as well and took the all back. Thank you! I think I posted the picture of the jacket pinned for alteration. The sleeve/shoulder does have a nice puff and it isn't too exaggerated. I didn't change it at all. I did get the sleeve shortened and the back taken in a little. I love this one because for my climate it is an all year round weight and I didn't find it that heavy. The glittery jacket is too much like a cardigan IMO and I really didn't think that it worked into my current life style.I loved the fit of the black jacket on you even without the alteration. Really cute!! I know, I am sitting here thinking about the concept of a denim jacket for $4200!Neimans just sent out an email about new fall items and I was browsing while eating my lunch and I saw this- remind you of anything? So I ordered it out of curiosity- could be cute at a fraction of the cost. I will report back when I get it. I have a navy blue blazer of theirs from a couple years backView attachment 5179534 and it fits nicely, a Balmain inspiration but not bad for the price. Clearly I need to get back to work!
I took a look at it at NM. Site says it runs large. Looks short on the model.GK, the C denim version is SO BEAUTIFUL- I thought about it too! My store sold out of it instantly so I thought "why not" when I saw the VB copy. I really like the concept of a slim fitting denim jacket- I hope you get to try on the "real " one at your store!
The thing about a jean jacket is that it goes with everything and therein lies the problem lol! It is so much easier to grab it to run out the door as opposed to one of my C jackets. My go-to jean jacket is one I bought 15+years ago. I bought it at Bloomies on sale and it wears like iron.My husband lobbied for me to get the jacket but I am not really a Jean jacket gal and I need to try to be good. It is really really pretty though. I rather loved the skirt more but it was a 46.
Understand this completely - My DH sometimes likes denim (he grew up on a farm) but I’m not a denim gal-My husband lobbied for me to get the jacket but I am not really a Jean jacket gal and I need to try to be good. It is really really pretty though. I rather loved the skirt more but it was a 46.
You may find you prefer a cropped jacket in terms of where it hits on your body.I finally got to try on my most coveted piece from 21A.
I loved it on the hanger…on me, not a fan. I know it needed tailoring but I couldn’t help but think that it aged me and made me look larger than I actually am.
So I left without it.View attachment 5178582
