Chanel Jumbos going out of style?

I also believe mini bags, and especially these micro mini bags are just trending and we will cycle back to larger bags. Even the Deauvilles, LV On the Go, Dior Book totes etc. show there’s still love for larger bags (but IMO these structured large bags are SO big and a bit too structured). For a lot of the petite ladies, the Jumbo can be overwhelming in size. Personally, I adore the look, where it sits with the chain doubled, and it’s still the ultimate classic. M/L are just a bit too small and minis don’t look good on me. I am in agreement that pricing for a new Jumbo is just too high these days!

I was actually joking with my SA about this today. I’m so glad nobody else is going for the jumbos because it’s my favorite size. With the way it’s talked about on TPF, you’d think it was a giant black hole, but really it’s not a big bag in terms of what it fits. I personally think it’s the best size for a day bag and that the proportions are more aesthetically pleasing than the medium or the maxi. BUT I agree with you that they have just about priced me out and I will only get another if it’s a color that I can’t live without.

I think big bags will make a comeback at some point, but judging on their 21ss show, looks like micro bags are still going to be hot :annoyed:
I absolutely do not like these mini bags. This is of course, personal taste. However, I find them completely useless. I need my phone, wallet, small cosmetic bag, etc. Nothing, fits in these mini bags. They look as if these should be worn by children.

This IMO these mini and micro mini bags are simply, trending. I don't think height should make one uncomfortable to carry a large bag. This suits everyone. Just my opinion.

I'm relatively new to Chanel (I own a classic WOC), and the Jumbo is my HG bag and has been for years! I'm finally at a place where I have the extra income to put aside so have been saving for one, but am so frustrated by the price increases!

Regardless, I am planning to buy it for myself as a treat whenever I can finally see my ultra long distance BF again.. it's been 18 months since I've seen him, thanks COVID! :annoyed:

I bought jumbo after watching all YouTube videos and end up selling. While the strap is the best length on jumbos, it’s heavy and large bag.
In my opinion, person buying the jumbo should check on how many large bags someone already has and what is carried in the bag.For me, medium is the best size.

I don't think the jumbo is going out of the style forever. It is definitely out of style now as all fashionistas wear mini bags. Mini bags all over the place. On a larger thought though, I do believe the classic flap is at the moment is no longer a hot bag. It used to be the classic flap was the most coveted bag, and they were sold out before they even came on the market. Now, you see SAs post classic flap availability all the time, even the once super hard to get beige claire and black colors that had a wait list (anyone remember those days?!)

I think it's more due to the current fashion trend the jumbo is at the moment "out of fashion" as are all big bags including the Birkin 35 (see how many large Birkins are on the resale market).

I say if you love your jumbo, wear it. I'm still sticking to my Chanel totes as I am a tote lady (also a Coco Handle lady)! No mini cutesy bags for me, no matter how in fashion they are.

The move towards smaller bags by bloggers and influencers is ridiculous. It just goes to show they all follow each other and don’t ever think through what really works for them. I’ve seen so many influencers all of a sudden figure out the jumbo doesn’t work for them and sell it (really, after so many years?) and buy a medium or small. And then they wear the medium or small as a crossbody over a winter coat! It looks ridiculous on them!
The Jumbo (large) is the best size for me and I’m going to keep wearing them. Trends be damned especially when they are stupid trends. And it really isn’t that heavy. It feels lighter than many of my other bags of same size.

I agree and I love my jumbo single flap, however, I still find it heavy with just some basic items. I am surprised that it weighs around 1.9kg with my stuff in it  Now I know why I don’t use it often.

I think if you are going to go large to carry a lot, then go tote. I find the jumbo too heavy. The m/l is a great size for me as I usually dont carry more than a card holder and my mobile along with maybe a small perfume, lipstick/balm and hand cream. Thats about 80-90% of the time. Rest I use a proper tote.

The classic flap in Small, Medium, Jumbo will never go out of style. I found that my caviar jumbos are single flaps. As for double flap I got it in lambskin. So it’s pretty light. Love it.

The caviar jumbo double flap however is a tad bulky/weighty. But I still love the look of it. I wish they’d bring back single flaps.
