Chanel Jumbos going out of style?

Nice topic!

I think the aesthetic of the Jumbo will definitely come back again. In Fashion, we now see different shapes and a change of proportion. Less skinny jeans and more boot cut, more emphasis on the waist, less oversized and boxy cuts. And I agree, some designers are showing bigger bags now.

I really needed time to get used to the Dior saddle bag again, because these kind of shoulder bags where away for some time. I would bet, that the crossbody bag would be the next bag style that is going on a little time out. The Boys, Constance Bags and all their fellow friends.

I personally don’t think that the Jumbo is a big bag at all... I was dragging around a Celine Phantom Bag quiete a while ^^

But I have to admit, I have a classic black Jumbo and it is definitely a “fall and winter“ Bag. Coats, Boots etc. is just more harmonious... till the Fashion is changing our eye for proportions again :-)

fair point! I’m not sure where the line is crossed frim mini to microbags  small bags are super cute but as you said there are just essentials we need.
Early 2019 Jacquemus fooled everybody with the Le Chiquito bag. At first it looked ridiculous and then influencers started to wear it. Brands brought out bag charm mini versions of their bag. I thought it looked cute and was very handy. Big bag to hold my life, micro bag for easy acces.

For lunch, museum or a movie I only need cards, keys, mints, mirror and a lipstick. My phone is always in my hands or pocket. Except for the phone it holds as much as a woc or a clutch. I loved clutches and suddenly I was using my bag charms as actual micro bags.

Offcourse this isn't even doable in allergy season, do anything more than outhings where I only sit or walk around or nowdays with masks and hand sanitiser. But if you're okay with the bare minimum, it actually works.

I think it just depends, I bought mine before the recent price increase. I'm 5 8 and a size 12/14, so the Jumbo fits my frame better. I do own smaller bags but at a lower price point. I would only use a m/l for nights out, which for me would be a waste of money. Plus the strap could be a bit longer. Recently, I've seen a few youtubers say the m/l is a waste of money bc they do not use it bc of the size. With Antigona's, Speedy 30s, Birkin's 35, Neverfull's etc around the Jumbo is not a big bag. I would say it's a medium sized bag. I think the trend is smaller bags , right now but I can see that changing soon, with the more things we need to carry now..

I have been thinking the same thing! I want a bigger bag again because my things don't fit in the mini anymore. I need face mask and gloves etc. but its seems like it is out of style. I am curious how much it fits. Maybe people like neverfull because it fits more and the jumbo doesn't fit very much. For those of you who own it how much compared to the medium will fit in a jumbo? And is it now called the large?

I'm fairly new to Chanel, but I was introduced to the jumbo first. I like the idea of it, but everytime I've tried it on, it felt too large on me. I like larger bags just fine, but I think it might just be the particular shape of it?

This was the last time I tried one on (20s navy) and it just felt too big and boxy?

And again, I really like the idea of a bag this size. I'd even been looking into getting a vintage jumbo, but I talk myself out of it whenever I actually wear the bag.

That being said, it's a great bag and I agree with everyone else. It'll come back. We just happen to be on a small bag tend.
I think it looks great on you But I’m tired of small bags and like to mix it up  Though I stick to the reissue for myself, I love the jumbo on others! @Firstchanellv28, what a great memory and love your action pics! The size suits you perfectly! @Rockerchic , I love the jumbo on you! and your hair is stunning! Hugs

I have a m/l classic flap (vintage bargain from Japan), but am actually lusting after a Jumbo! I also have a 227 Reissue and find the size much more practical, so the equivalent in the classic flap is the Jumbo... but the current retail price is outrageous. Can get a pre-loved Birkin for that...

I think a lot of people are realizing that they want bigger bags now a days including myself. I don’t think the jumbo is ever out of style. I think it’s a lovely bag especially for the cold season like the previous tpfer mentioned. For me personally, the jumbo is too heavy for me so if I want a bigger bag I would choose a different style. The choice is solely because of user preference, not that it is trendy or not.

I love the look of the jumbo and I have both the jumbo and the m/l however, I only wear my jumbo in the fall and winter. I love how it looks with heavier clothes, more casual to me. My medium is really more my "event" bag.

I’ve been on the hunt for a white jumbo with champagne gold hardware and my SA told me last week when she found a m/l to hold onto the jumbos I do have because they are becoming more difficult to find. Now today I’m not even seeing the large listed on the Chanel website anymore?!?! It was removed from the France site as well so I’m freaking out a little!

I was waiting for Jumbo classic flap for a while in caviar and the boutique told me they are more difficult to get. I eventually got the 2.55 Reissue in Maxi and I love it so much! Hope the big bags will still stay available because the size is perfect for me.
