Chanel Jumbos going out of style?

I am actually selling a jumbo soon to fund a m/l charms bag I bought. For me jumbo is just too heavy to be practical. Also being on the petite side, I am able to wear m/l 3 ways... crossbody, long on one shoulder and double strap one shoulder. With jumbo I cant. The straps are just too long. So for my size the m/l is perfect.

I think xxl and xxs bags will always be trends only. but I see the jumbo as well as the classic mini bags in the “normal” size range that’ll never be out of style. I’d love a jumbo but I know I never reach for heavy bags..so..

Hi,
I just sold a black mini square in caviar and got a black jumbo in caviar leather with gold hardware (full set).
I have a charcoal mini reissue and a WOC and believe my small handbags need was covered and decided to part ways with the mini square.
I felt, in the long run, I would get a better usage of the jumbo.
So even though I agree with it being a large bag, I think it’s beautiful and rather user friendly .
I have a beige jumbo that I have been using a bit for work so this will be a good complement.
I know small bags are probably trendier but my sold mini funded the jumbo, that’s a bit crazy regardless if it was caviar or not (I bought the jumbo preloved).
Sorry friends, this was a long rant to say, I believe in the jumbo:flowers: (and unfortunately all other Chanel classic flap sizes as well..)
Take care:heart:

Eh I don’t get mini bags. If I can’t fit my phone, what’s the point?
I also don’t really care about trends when it comes to classics like Hermes bags and the Chanel styles. The bags have been around for ages and have staying power no matter what the trend is. Nobody would ever judge for carrying something like that even with a trend of smaller bags. Super mini bags are ridiculous and kind of pointless if you can’t even get essentials in there - ID/Credit Card, keys at minimum.

something like a Fendi monster bags (why did these exist??) or the utility bags currently on trend (LV multi pochette and Prada re-edition - the latter of which I love but do not own) are or will be dated in so many years time and may raise eyebrows.

I also don’t worry about trends so maybe my opinion isn’t really valid anyway.
I so agree. Say “no” to trends and let what you carry be your guide. Nothing’s worse than squishIng your phone, lipstick, compact, keys, sunnies and small wallet into a mini bag, fearing everything will spill across floor OR losing smaller items in the black hole of a too big bag, where they disappear never to be seen again.

I am partial to the m/l size CF, but have recently found myself wanting a jumbo. There is a red caviar jumbo in the new 21S collection!! For a first time jumbo owner, would you recommend I go with the classic black or go for the red?? Help, please lol

Red is a really popular color, and coveted red shades can sell above retail. Black is more readily available on the resale market, and you can often find one below retail if you ever decide to purchase a second jumbo in the future. Also, if you have a black m/l, I think red would be a great choice for the jumbo!

Thank you for the advice! I do already own a black m/l CF, so am definitely leaning towards the red :)

I bought my black lambskin jumbo 7-8 years ago second hand in like new condition, and have considered selling it many times because with the double flap- for the size- its heavy- and doesn’t seem to fit much due to the two flaps. But I consider it to be a timeless bag, so keeping it part of the collection. It still consider it a beautiful bag.
If it was a single flap bag, that would be a completely different story. But I have seem this size in metallics, not in red yet, and they looks gorgeous

Definitely go for the red jumbo! I had a black jumbo last year and sold it thinking it was too big and bulky. Then I saw the 20B burgundy jumbo and it was love!! Didn’t think twice about it. She is by far one of my most worn bags. I don’t think you will regret the red jumbo. And as others said, you can always add a black jumbo down the road.

The burgundy is gorgeous!! Congrats! Starting to feel like there is a red jumbo in my near future <3

I have 4 jumbos and I think it’s a true day bag
Not too big but still spacious and practical, not too formal and a forever classic shape
I do like the medium in bright or unusual colours but the jumbo works great in black and neutral colours
