Chanel Jumbos going out of style?

I agree about the mini part, I never fell for the mini bag trend, I only have 1 caviar black mini that I rarely use but won’t part with because it’s caviar and hopefully will pass it on to my daughter. I much prefer medium/large sized bags (or WOC for a smaller bag) and the jumbo is definitely one of those!

Same, I prefer the elegant look of the WOC, and have two of those for travel, sporting events, etc. Jumbos for every day and the medium for evenings out. If I see a color combo in lambskin (all my classic flaps are caviar aside from one WOC) in the future I can't live without, I would probably prefer it in a small rather than a mini. I think one of the main upsides is the crossbody option of the minis, but I still think they look too toy like so that isn't enough for me to actually purchase one. Plus my reissues work crossbody.

Exactly how I feel, toy like, same applies to mini coco handle in my opinion.

Do I think the jumbo isnt as popular as it once were? Sure because mini bags are all the rage right now. But for me personally I think it has more to do with the Rona and the fact the only places I’m going nowadays are groceries stores and I’m just not carrying much. Before all this I used mine quite frequently despite the popularity of mini and micro bags, even with my 5ft frame. So I think I will start using mine again a lot more once we can have our normal lives back.

I prefer my jumbo over my medium tbh. Love the strap length and size. I think the minis look cute at night time, but my issue with them is the inconsistent quality. I purchased a mini lady dior over it because the quality is far more superior.

If I were to add another classic to my collection, it’ll most likely be a jumbo. Probably beige/ghw.

I’ve always thought the jumbo is too big, bulky, and old fashioned.

Depends on your frame as well. Jumbos look overwhelming on me, I much prefer the minis followed by the classic size.
I just got vintage old style jumbo with the large CC. I think the vntage jumbo size which is squarish and the large logo and chunky chain is more complimentary then the contemporary shape. I do feel the vintage jumbo is perfect day to night bag and can fit all the necessary items (face mask, sanitiser, pouches, make up, etc) without compromising. Not sure if I would have purchased a new jumbo though.

I think mini bags are different from micro bags. Mini bags should still be able to fit your phone, it's the micro bags that are really on trend right now and kinda a waste of money (IMHO).

I feel like mini bags are hard to use now because I carry hand sanitizer, a mask, and maybe even sanitizing wipes with me everywhere I go. I only used to carry around phone, keys, wallet, which fit in my mini bags, but add a bottle of hand sanitizer and other PPE and it doesn't fit anymore.
I agree I need a large classic to crossbody
and hold enough for more than 1 hour out. Mini is good for hands free essentials like your phone but that is it. I am going to try a jumbo.

The move towards smaller bags by bloggers and influencers is ridiculous. It just goes to show they all follow each other and don’t ever think through what really works for them. I’ve seen so many influencers all of a sudden figure out the jumbo doesn’t work for them and sell it (really, after so many years?) and buy a medium or small. And then they wear the medium or small as a crossbody over a winter coat! It looks ridiculous on them!
The Jumbo (large) is the best size for me and I’m going to keep wearing them. Trends be damned especially when they are stupid trends. And it really isn’t that heavy. It feels lighter than many of my other bags of same size.
I think minis are trending because of the price point for Chanel.

I wonder if many who are deep in the mini trend would regret later. Other than great for clubs, the bags fits little (especially square mini), look more like a kid’s bag and for the cost I’d rather get a small cf. Really just my unpopular opinion.

Jumbos/maxi might not be trendy but at least practical functional.
I think it has to fit your frame and needs ti be matched with hoe much you carry. I look like a kid and know a couple of elderly woman who still love their mini flaps.

I think there are people out there who buy on a whim or because things are trendy. They might regret their purchase. Just as there are jumbo lovers who regretted buying a jumbo after the craze was over. I think regret is not nessisarily about style but embedded in character.

I’m on the waitlist for a classic flap bag in the jumbo size. It could take up to 12 weeks before the bag arrives. I though I was able to buy one right away because they aren’t as populair anymore but I guess there are still lots of people who buy jumbo’s. This is my second brand new Chanel bag. I doubted between a coco handle, a mini square or a jumbo. Because the jumbo is very expensive but I guess the prices only go up more so I buy the large bag first and end with a mini.
