Fellow TPFer says in her case (or friend - can't remember), the credit is only good for the store it was purchased in.
I also want to say that there wasn't anything written on the back of her italian invoice/receipt, which is what triggered this whole discussion, but I'm not positive.
Update: read her post. Store credit in the actual store she returned her bag, in Italy.

So this is indeed a new policy there! But I quoted the invoices on the back. Very strange there is no info on the back on the Italian invoice.
I also remember the spring sale there also started later then rest of Europe.

I was just there, and they do have great stock. I asked about an old medium in black, but they didn't have it. I'm not sure about Navy. The sales associate said they had stock in the velvet boys. Rome definitely had the best stock and you'll be there on Thursday/Friday which are shipment days so you may find what you are looking for!

My friend is going to Italy next week (Florence and Rome) and I was going to ask him to pick up a WOC for me. Anyone know how stock is right now? I'm looking for classic quilted black lambskin with GHW. Also looking for a small card case in black lamb GHW. Anyone seen those recently in store?
Hi all! I'm going to Florence and Venice in early November....any recommendations on which boutiques are best? I saw that there are three in Florence, and I remember only one when I was in Venice last, but that may have changed. Thank you for any input! XO Joy
Does anyone know what the price differences are in Italy and France? I went to France in March and will be heading to Rome in a few months. Are the prices more expensive in Rome? Does anyone know what the selections are like? Is there a big Chanel store like how they have in Paris? TIA!!
There is no price difference in Italy and France, for example, the WOC is 1450 euro in both Italy as well as France. In Italy, the Chanel located on Babuino 99 (near the Spanish Steps) is currently undergoing renovation and is closed. I am not sure when the renovations will be completed. The other location roughly 3 blocks away (on Campo Marzio) is still open. You are welcome to call them before you go to check their stock.
I was just there about a week ago. Overall I was disappointed in the available stock at all the locations I visited in Italy. At the time I was there though, Florence appeared to have the best overall selection. There is only one location in Florence, directly opposite the Uffizi Gallery. The address is Piazza Della Signoria, 10. It is open until 7 p.m. everyday except Sunday. The attached pic is the Florence location.
The Venice location is nice too though. It is located near San Marco Square. Walk to the end of the square opposite the duomo and go thru the arches. Chanel is located directly to your left.
