Chanel in italy

Chanel in Italy was terrible! Thank god I had a stop in France first.

Went to the Rome and Florence stores. Rome was a tad better - they had the jumbo and medium classic flaps, no maxis in stock. Florence was more limited edition bags than classics. Very small too.

Its hard to find bags in Italy because there are such few stores to transfer from vs. France (4-5 stores in Paris alone!). Good luck. I would advise calling the store and asking them if transfer is an option based on bag availability in the country.

thanks for the info , what about the classic medium flaps? have u seen them?

I gotten the last black caviar in ghw (new) in store. While I was trying out, 3 couples were standing around me in anticipation that I will not want it and the whole process was only less than 10 minutes. They had a black lamb in ghw as an alternative but none in shw.
Stocks really run out fast there. The SA mentioned they received 10 GST in the morning and the last black GST in shw was taken by a lady who asked for it before me.

SA recommendation for Milan store (Via S. Andrea 10/A, 20121 Milano)
Ana-Maria Dinca
Speaks English well and is really friendly. I had a great first purchase with her!
I'm traveling to Milan next month. How many Chanel stores are there? May I ask what did you buy? I am thinking of the classic flap small or medium. would you know if inventory is enough? What is a price for classic? Thank you for your help in advance.

I'm not sure how many there are, aside from the one I went to. I did not have access to a vehicle, and this store was within walking distance (a mile) of the world's oldest mall, where most of the high end retail stores are.
I purchased a black WOC with silver hardware.
As for inventory, it was definitely spotty. I was there May 2014 and it was very busy. I had originally hoped for a caviar WOC, but they were sold out. However, they did have inventory for some harder to find pieces, such as the mini flap, exotics, etc. Because of when I was there (upon my return to the States I discovered I purchased the week before the increase), I am not the best judge for price- try the prices thread for that. It'll be better right now going from American dollars because the Euro is so low at the moment.
My tip- definitely file the VAT return at the airport. So worth the 30 minutes- I got over $200 back.

Any recommended sa in Rome? I am going to Rome in mid June and want to ask for the stock before I go. And does anyone know if it is possible I can find a quilted boy at Fiumicino airport? TIA!!!

As far as I recall, there is no Chanel at Fiumicino airport. There is only 1 Chanel store in Rome. There was another Chanel store further down the stretch from Spanish Steps (less than 5 min stroll away) but it seems to be undergoing renovation.
If you are in other cities first, I will suggest getting what you like first as the stocks seems low even for an off-peak season. My friend mentioned that the store was super crowded during last summer.

Will you be there for long? You can probably drop in to check out and ask for SA to help you keep a lookout for what you want.

I went about an hour before closing and all 10 GSTs that arrived on that day was snapped up with the last taken up by a lady who asked for it minutes before I did.

Good luck in getting what you want.

Will be there only for 3 days :( should I go and check the stocks everyday? I want to get a caviar boy but now it seems hopeless. Thank you so much!!

Yup, you probably should. They can't tell me when they get their stocks but I guess mid-day is a good bet.

Depending on whether there is release of new boys then, you may just get what you want. I think the Rome store had more of seasonal items than classic. When I was there, there were plenty of patent boys on display.

My friend just came back from Venice yesterday and bought a light pink WOC for 700 euros and the black classic flap wallet for 450 euros, where in Paris, WOC is usually 1450 euros and black classic flap wallet is 700 euros. Does anyone know why?
