Chanel in italy

hi ladies!

I hope you can help me with my dilemma. I'm planning on my very first Chanel purchase :smile1: I'm almost set on purchasing a new one taking advantage of Saks' double event this month. However, I am traveling to Italy this summer (haven't decided on the month yet, but thinking of either May or June), and I'm starting to second-guess my decision to buy a CF in the U.S.

FYI, I'm only going to Venice. In an ideal world, I could buy one from there before price increase and return to the US happy. Worst case scenario, I don't find any CF m/l in stock in the Venice store, and return to the US, and possibly have to pay extra if there is price increase over the summer.

So, my question is how easy is it to find a classic flap m/l in black caviar gold hardware on an any given day (preferably does anyone have an experience with Venice?) is it worth waiting and risking possible price increase over the summer?

I think it should be fairly easy. I am based in the UK and here they always have the CF in stock.

I am not sure about Venice. I was in Rome recently and it is supposedly the off-peak tourist season. I enquired about the black m/l flaps. They showed me the lambskin in ghw and warned that they may not have the caviar. They eventually managed to find the last black caviar in ghw in store for me. While I was trying, 3 more ladies came along and waited around me to see if I will give it up. It wasn't like I was trying for very long to decide, the whole process was only a couple of minutes.

Summer is usually a peak tourist season so you may run a risk of not being able to get what you want. A friend of mine went to Europe last summer and only managed to get hers in Paris. She was told she was lucky as the stocks arrived in the morning and the black caviar m/l had been sold out for a month before that.

You may thus want to have alternative in mind.

Wow. Did you end up buying from them? If so, congratulations! It seems to be pure luck, and I'm also weary that even if I find one it may not be in such pristine condition. If so, you're right, better to have an alternative in mind... And to hear about Paris store- that the black caviar m/l had been out of stock for ONE MONTH?! wow.... I'm really starting to doubt my luck now.

I will be going to Rome early May. Hoping for a reissue and Jumbo. Hope to find at least one.

The SAs did tried to show the jumbo to those who missed out on the m/l as an alternative.

As for the reissue, I did not ask especially since hubby felt the classic were nicer. Overall, it really depends on what are available when you are there.

Yup, I bought the m/l and hubby been laughing that it is an impulsive buy and I called it pressure buying. It is really down to luck and I always thought Jan - Feb was a good time since it was the off-peak season but I was wrong. That morning, the Rome outlet received 10 GST and the last in black caviar with shw was offered to a lady who requested before me.

Good luck in getting your dream piece.
