So we should only walk on grass?? Umph that's not good news. I guess I'd have to carry them to work or to where ever I'm going?

It seems kind of silly to me to carry shoes which are made for walking to a place where you'll just be indoors, but that's me. I just know which kinds of shoes are more long lasting and which are not and make my purchasing decisions based on that. If I know a shoe will only last one season, I won't buy them at a huge cost in many colors/variations; I'd buy only one say or things like that. I'd rather buy other shoes that last longer. So please wear and use your shoes, but just realize they won't last as long as leather shoes.

Right, to which I agree it's a bit silly to make shoes that can't be worn on anything but carpet and grass....it does not sound like a good move by the company....they might as well as made them foldable and disposable like the slippers you can carry in your purse...I just doesn't sound right.

Espadrilles have been made by so many different companies and designers, as well as small shoemakers for generations. They usually make them in canvas, and my way of storing them is by folding them (like you would with a pair of ballet slippers or pointe shoes--fold the heel in and then the sides in) and place them toe to heel with soles facing out. That way you can stack them with the soles only touching other soles and make a little espadrille stack. :) I just would wear the heck out of them for a season, and then go for the backup (I bought backup pairs in the colors I liked the best), but they didn't cost me $500-600 a pair. I guess it's all relative, as well. A pair of pointe shoes cost $90 to $130 and last anywhere from an hour to a couple of weeks depending on the maker and your feet. :) So I might see shoes differently than others.

Now topsiders, those shoes last a long time, can be worn in salt water (were actually made to be worn in that environment) and serve their purpose well. I won't say they look too pretty after doing so, but they last quite a while.

I guess I will soon know the answer to this cause I've been wearing mine non stop on concrete, carpet etc.. So far no issues and the soles still look new considering walking on the pavement. So we shall see...

How are they holding up since you got them resoled? Do you know what the new sole is called so I can ask my cobbler? Do you mind me asking how much they charged you?

It's still winter here so I haven't worn them. Just take the shoe to your cobbler and tell him/her you would like to have the soles reinforced. They will choose what they have available and what's best for the shoe. I didnt ask for a name. He charged about $70 for two shoes.

Thank you! I will talk with my cobbler!
