And you took it to a shoe cobbler/repair person? I'll have to see if there's a local guy that does them here.

Tried these on for the 100th time today and I am still debating them...do they wear out easily? Anyone have issues with them tearing? Just wondering...if they are worth buying. I have been on the fence since last summer about them!! Thank you

Any espadrille, whether sold by Chanel or a small shoemaker in ______ country has a limited life due to the materials used. The jute will come unraveled and the rubber sole will wear down. They are pretty much a one season shoe. I've worn espadrilles (used to have them in every color of the rainbow by another designer) and talked with SA's who have had Chanel's version. You can get longer mileage by avoiding wearing them often and not walking on pavement and concrete, but the shoe is made of what it is made of.
