Welcome! Oh, and I've seen very well made veneers last for years and years. If it's something you ever look into doing please research the heck out of the dentist. There are all kinds of varying degrees of how good their work is. You want the one that doesn't bring up $ until you do, having personal references is always the best and asking to see pictures of the cases they've done is good too. [emoji846]

I had veneers for 25 years, 6 top front. I should have had 8-10 done. At the end they chipped and needed to be replaced. Due to bone loss I had all my teeth (with the exception of 1 back tooth) crowned. My dentist's specialty is cosmetic. Very important to pick a cosmetic dentist with a good eye for color and shape. I always tell him... he gave me the teeth God should have!
People always think that I've just had my teeth bleached...I never say a word.

So with veneers do they just grind down your real teeth and then create another tooth and/or teeth and this glue them onto your real teeth?

That's a crown. When they do veneers, they rough up the surface of your tooth and then paint a thin layer over it.

I've always wanted veneers as my teeth need some help due to bad braces when I was a teen. Anyone that has them, any ballpark on a cost? I'm assuming its a per tooth cost? Not sure if we're talking hundreds here or thousands.

I;'ve seen some natural looking veneers that look GREAT!! then I've seen some that look like chicklets.

I’m interested to know what it feels like. I wouldn’t have a clue but I know when I once got acrylics, it felt like cement adhered to my nail bed. Couldn’t wait to get rid of them. I just can’t imagine what it would feel like to have something permanently stuck to my teeth?

You don't feel them at all.

You are so right about the cosmetic dentist, it really is an art!

They're definitely Not too big, and color is a preference. They look great!

Veneers aren't painted on. They reduce the front of the tooth a very minimal amount, impressions are taken and a porcelain like almost shell is bonded on to the front of your tooth.
