Although the neon satchels probably won't be trendy for more than another season or two, I have a soft spot for highlighter yellow/green colors, so I'll always love it :) I'd say that the more traditional black, brown, or even green, should last for years to come.

Of course she loves. She picked the colors. And I did have her initials blind embossed on her bag. :-).

Oh and just to add it is actually the perfect size for her folders, notebooks and a workbook which she uses. She carries a separate bag for her lunch. Before when I used to put it in all one back pack she would tip over or it was too big and awkward for her to carry.

Finally got my silver 13" directly from Cambridge's clearance sale site. I ordered it on Wed, shipped on Thurs and got it just today. Wow, that was fast! It was supposed to have a scratch in the front but you can barely see it because of the shimmer. Paid 76 sterling pound with shipping which is around $123. Only bad thing is that it did not come with a dustbag :( Does anyone know whether those clearance satchels don't come with them...cause I'm really surprised being that its coming straight from Cambridge.

Hello All!

I've been reading through the thread and agree with the comments that the Cambridge Satchels were too stiff. I had wanted a satchel for ages and when I went to look at one I was surprised at how stiff and ridged it felt! For some reason it reminded me of cardboard? lol. After that I asked my dad to buy me one from Zatchels for my birthday and I could not be happier. The pastel purple shade is gorgeous and after about a month of wear the leather became more supple, but not too supple if you get me. And for me I just find Zatchels designs so much better!

i've had the cambridge satchel bag for six months now and have been using it day in and day out. so far, no problems and it gets compliments all the time, from complete strangers to guy friends. it got less stiff in time, but still is pretty sturdy which is exactly what i want. :)

Love this thread! I first heard about the Cambridge satchel a few months ago when the TODAY show had a deal on the 11" in the metallic colors. I waited and waited and of course missed out. Fast forward to cyber monday yesterday, and I was so happy to finally get my first satchel - a 15" patent leather from ASOS, 30% off.

In my giddiness for my new bag, I started reading threads upon threads on TPF about the satchel, only to find that Nordstrom had some marked down a few weeks ago in stores (sold out online, though). A little calling around this morning - and I have an 11" in neon orange and vintage brown on the way to me as well! Ha 3 satchels in 1 day! I'm sure I'll return either the orange or brown (I have too many bags as it is!), but wanted to see them both in person first. Got them both for $62 - PM me if you need info on the Nordstrom stores where I found them!

So I have been on the CSC craze/hunt lately (okay just started today), but am undecided. The 11" satchels look great, and very cutesy, but I'm not sure whether it'll fit much stuff in? Would it fit a wallet, small make up pouch, water bottle and an iPad? Thanks!

No, it wouldn't fit all of that. They don't fit the iPad let alone all the other things with it.
I could get a wallet, keys and phone in. No sunglasses or pouch which I normally would have carried in my bag.

I am a happy owner of a black Cambride Satchel since this June.

Before buying I was pretty uncertain about it. Now that I own it, I almost use ti every day, and expecially at night!
I have the 11", and it is quite small: when I carry the Ipad I am almost not able to carry anything else, exept a very small purse for money and my keys.
Otherwise, I am able to carry a bigger purse, a small agenda, cigarettes, keys and something more, but just little things.
It is a very comfortable bag for an everyday use if you are not the overload-bag type, or if you just want to stay light.

I found it's very best using it at night! The black version goes well with almost every outfit (I always wear cocktail and party dresses) and it adds a strong touch.
Expecially if you go dancing, the way the bag is closed makes it impossible for anyone to steal something from it!
The first time I put the cell phone inside, it rung out loud for 2 minutes until I finally managed to open the bag! It takes you two or three days of practicing but that's the best part of it I think. I live in a city where thiefs are common!

I couldn't even get the bag to close with an iPad in the one I had, so I'm impressed you got that much!
Was definitely an "evening"/going out sized bag which was why I got rid of it, too small for me.
