I've had no problem with my backpack batchel. I use it every day at work. I ordered it in August 2011 and received it in November 2011.
Today we had an April downpour, here in L.A., and I got caught up in it with my backpack batchel on my back and getting soaked and no problems. The same happened some months ago and no problems.
It's also held up fine in the heat as I have left it in my car when it was in the high 80s and it hasn't melted or changed shapes. I'm more concerned about extreme heat than water. We'll see how it holds up, in summer/fall, when it's 85-115 degrees out.
Yeah, this is what I thought re rainfall...let us know about the heat but I suspect it will be just fine too

TexasMama, thanks again! I emailed them yesterday and they agreed to have me send it back since they agree it was faulty. They'll pay shipping both ways but I asked them if they can just credit me for the neon yellow I just ordered like two days ago plus credit me on the shipping to send back the carmel one. I don't want another carmel version as once I have a bad experience I don't tend to want the same replacement. Hopefully they'll be good with this since they haven't shipped the neon yellow yet.
This was the closest I found. Maybe you can reach out to them as these might be custom styles..not sure but its worth asking..luv the neon combo

I looked for "color block satchels" or colour, and fluoro and found it at harvey nichols online but it was sold out and they dont ship to the US, so I got the pink one from j crew, I just told my friend who wants the smaller 11" one to order from bloomingdales as it sold out on shop bop. I have just had it a few days and get so many complements, and my 4 yr old son said it was spectacular! HAHAHA.

It's been fine in the heat so far and it will be 90 degrees again here in L.A. by Friday. I leave it in my car every day when I get home from work and the heat hasn't affected it. I don't know if it will be affected in the summer heat or not as it can reach as high as 118 degrees outside.
Its so beautiful... should I get it??? The colours are so nice but I am not a cross-body bag person.:wondering

I luv wearing these and I carry very little so they are perfect. I thought I liked the 14 inch but with Bohemia I luv the 12.5 and with Cambridge I guess its the 13 inch which I don't have "yet" Most of all I luv the fact that they are crossbody and not hard on my left should which is already broken down from wearing heavy bags in previous years 
Everyone should have at least one if they luv the crossbody look (but you can also just wear it the shoulder, although not my fav style for this one. Be careful, though, you might get hooked!
