Hello everyone

I am going to purchase my First Calvi

do you prefer mysore or chamkila?
I know that I want to go for chevre so far (I do not like the look/feel of epsom & I find evercolor too soft)
I considered adding a chamkila to my collection (because I so love mysore) and decided against because I found it too stiff and a bit thicker. To me mysore is very durable and stunning. Just my two cents! I believe @skybluesky owns both?

Good memory! I do have both. I actually don't use my chamkila much (I just love my barenia one too much) but it's got a lot less deep veining and maybe shinier than the mysore? Or maybe it's because it's smoother so it seems shinier? My chamkila is in anemone and I totally have it because I love your anemone calvi. I honestly don't think I prefer one over the other...I do remember that when I bought them in 2020, the chamkila was more expensive than the mysore for the calvi (by about $60, but not 100% sure).

Hi @skybluesky , do you happen to have a picture of your Calvi in barenia around and don’t mind sharing?
I've been searching for this and was told it comes only with the embossed version ( not sure what’s the term). Does yours have an embossed side? Thank you!
Not OP, but if you do a search on this thread for "barenia", you'll find quite a few have shared their Barenia Pop Calvis. ;) These have contrasting interiors (i.e., Orange Poppy or Bleu Saphir) first produced circa 2016. Good luck hunting!

I have the barenia faubourg version, it's the one with the grains in it. Is that the version you want to see? Warning though, it's definitely loved (read: scratched) and I'm horrible at taking pictures.

Thanks @skybluesky for the reply but I got what I was looking for. I was looking for smooth barenia and have found several pictures as per the advice above. AND saw some box versions too!

Thanks again for your offer.

PS: saw some box calvi online at the French H site. Go get them, you lucky EU residents!

I’m with you :) I prefer @skybluesky’s pink interior to her BF Calvi to my orange poppy interior (I don’t think smooth barenia came with pink interior as an option), but either way you can’t go wrong with barenia… I adore my smooth barenia Calvi! Welcome to the club

Btw if you’re in USA, the box Calvi shows up on h.com from time to time… just requires diligence to hunt for it if you want one :)

joining the club with my first Calvi :)

it arrived this morning

Chevre Mysore in color Lime

in different light it has a green undertone, I'm in LOVE

I am really new to Hermès. Before I only had a Bastia as my first Hermès piece, but I bought it in epsom & epsom it just not for me - it looks dull and feels plasticky to me

Want to try Chèvre Chamkila next :-)
