I agree, and recently they have been providing me with fabulous customer service. I had an issue with a reserve order being the wrong model/dimensions/conditions, and they really went above and beyond to try and make it right.

After a lot of back and forth I ended up not purchasing the bag, and I wasn’t exactly the easiest customer to deal with, and they still really valued me as a customer with my next purchase.

My experience with the personal shoppers has been really great. My PS in New York is the one who brought to my attention all the undisclosed damage. I tend to call the personal shoppers a lot, and I think after awhile you get assigned to a particular one (at least that’s my theory since I always get the same PS in Carlsbad and NY).

I also notice their quotes have gotten a lot better. I’ve been a long time fan of FF, and the listing issues are concerning, but I am getting the impression they are really trying to fix the issue.
I hope you are right Ive been along time customer as well. The lady that started personal shopping for them was a lady named Tamika she was great. Her advice and review of a bag was impeccable. She is greatly missed. I’m glad you were able to get your issue resolved if I may ask why was there so much back and forth.

I've had good luck with the staff in NY as well in terms of customer service and descriptions. I do hope they are getting back on track.

I still think FP is one of the better online resale stores but it seems like they changed how they rate bag condition in the last year or so. Bags that would have been considered “very good” a year+ ago is now rated as “excellent” despite some obvious wear. I am more careful about my purchases of “very good” or “excellent” condition bags from FP as a result.

I totally agree

Very interesting about how they got started with using personal shoppers! The back and forth started with me putting an item on reserve layaway. I always call a personal shopper before I purchase or reserve anything, but this was on a Friday and every time I called, it kept mentioning that they were in a company wide meeting. Since this was a really rare bag at a great price, I decided to reserve it anyway.

When Monday came around, I got in contact with my personal shopper, and he mentioned the bag had tons of undisclosed wear (rips/tears in the leather). I contacted customer service, since I was still interested in the bag, but was wondering if there could be a price adjustment for the difference in condition. They ended up crediting me $200 off the bag, which I thought was a great deal.

However I was planning on getting the bag repaired, and after receiving an extremely high estimate I decided to cancel the reserve, and they waived my reserve fee.

Long story short I had buyers remorse and wanted to repurchase the bag lol, and right after I repurchased, I received an email that the bag couldn’t be repaired. FF waived my reserve layaway again (although made it quite clear this was a special circumstance and will be my last waiver, which I completely understand).

Towards the end a lot of the back and forth was my doing, and thank god for the personal shoppers!

I also agree about the condition rating. I called about another bag today in good condition that also had undisclosed wear. Basically the leather holding the Chanel turn lock was separating and not listed.

It was only noticed when the personal shopper tried to open the bag and the leather was starting to split from the seams lol. Saved me from making another back and forth purchase

Yes, she was the one that started pulling bags and reviewing them before it was a thing, and then she was the cornerstone for making it what it is today. I actually will not purchase unless I have spoken to a PS and gotten pictures or am able to go see the bag in person. I to find it has saved me. I’m glad it worked out for you.

As a big handbag lover with a cherished Chanel collection, I couldn't help but notice Fashionphile's latest marketing campaign comparing real bags to fake ones. While the intention might have been to emphasize authenticity, it's sparked some unexpected reflections for me. With the rise of convincing replicas, I find myself questioning the essence of luxury and the allure of owning the genuine thing. Is anyone else feeling a shift in perspective on the value of authenticity? These replicas look 1:1

last time (I think was last year) I tested myself with their comparison game, I was 100% accurate, hahaha, even with the brands / bags I never bought. and I tested several times years before, I was 100% accurate with the brands I buy.

Personally, I don't buy things I can't authenticate myself and / or there is no authenticity guaratee. I think FP at least authenticity guarateed if you can't authenticiate it yourself.

and there are people would buy replicas, but if you don't know how authentic ones would look like and would look like in 5 years, how could you get fake ones good enough just like the authentic ones? besides, these are two different things, one is treasured gives you pride, the other is not.

Is there a way to filter your likes/followed items by what is actually available vs sold out? When they have sales, I try to go through the items I have followed, but 90% of them are sold and it takes so long to wade through years of likes that I just give up.
