I agree with your thoughts and have wondered the same thing. IMHO it seems their since they partnered with NM things have changed and not for the better. Just guessing but they probably placed some people in key postions that havent helped either. Again, just a guess. For example, over pricing items and returning items at regular price rather than the reduced prices when they are returned or cancelled.
So frustrated. Have called Chelsea Fashionphile twice over two days and just gave up after 1:33 minute on hold. This after 3 texts, the latter two to clarify condition. Today, I left FP a very candid review at their request, mostly concerning text errors on their site, photo errors, hardware color errors, etc. Their foundation has really suffered over the past year. The bags I look at are all very expensive. For Service, you can’t beat Carlsbad, but Chelsea never has performed very well. And the people moderating their website need oversight.

I am so sorry that makes no sense. I wonder if they run short in NY? Funny you would say this I had a conversation with a rep about the same thing today but it was Calif. If you call and get customer care on the line in the morning tell them about your wait. They can transfer you to NY and maybe contact a manager. I hope you get the information you need.

I was interest in a $12k jewelry item on their site with only 3 very bad photos (2 photos from far away and one just of the clasp, no year listed, though I would be able to tell the age with more photos). It was also returned at least twice, so it may have some condition issue. It was listed as being in a NYC store, so I called to ask if they could take photos of the item. They said no. I asked if they could bring out the item and answer a question about it from looking it at. They said no. I asked if I came in person to the store could I see it? They said yes, but only with a day’s advanced notice, and they are closed on weekends?! How is a retail store closed on weekends?

I am in a different state, so I can’t come in anyway, but what kind of store does not actually have items available? Why not just keep items in a warehouse in that case?

They said only the personal shopper team has access to most of the items, even if they are listed as being in the store. I have a personal shopper, but it’s not worth the effort for an item I have questions about anyway.

OMG! For $12,000.00 you would have thought they would have made it happen.

There’s a lot of variation amongst the personal shoppers too. Some will give you information right off the cough, while others will tell you they don’t have access to information. They’ve stopped putting a year in the text, especially Chelsea. No love lost between Carlsbad and Chelsea. Initially, Chelsea was stocked with castoffs. It’s better now but I think Carlsbad recognizes that they are kind of disingenuous about their bags. I got extra pictures of a bag that I’d like to consider but none of the flaws exposed by the extra photos were on the site.

Thanks. It gives me enough pause to think, well, I could take that money and pay my mortgage down another 20%. But you know, none of our obsessions are actually rational (Lol)…

I think this necklace was in the Chelsea store! It was definitely in NYC. They just couldn’t be bothered. I even understood that they might not have time to take photos, but they could at least look at the piece to answer a simple question I had.
They were even discouraging me from going into the store to buy it, when I innocently asked them if I could see it if I went into the store then. They basically said, “Don’t come”. They said I should just buy online and return if needed.

It seems like they just want to be an online only platform, which is fine, but then why have stores?

When I have worked with personal shoppers in the past it has been mostly great. Often they will need to get back to me the next day, but they have sent me a lot of high-definition close-up photos (this was the California location). I think I have purchased everything that I have received photos for, I would not do it if I wasn’t serious.

I've had no issues with online purchases and returns, and I recently visited the Carlsbad location while visiting San Diego. I wanted to look at several Goyard bags and the staff could not have been nicer. They didn't have exactly what I was looking for so I didn't purchase anything, but the experience overall was very positive.

This really pertains to Chelsea and the website. Carlsbad is fabulous.

Did you have to make an appointment?

Website says "Walk-ins welcome, appointment highly recommended", but I was picking up an online order. It was a weekday afternoon and the place was quiet, they might be busier on the weekend. I'd make an appointment if I was selling. When I asked to see a couple of bags the receptionist gave me an iPad and said it's the same as shopping online. You place your desired items in the cart and they bring them out to you.

Yes, the ladies in the showroom are great! I think the ladies on the phone are nice too but sometimes I think they get overwhelmed with the new system. I've asked for a couple pictures of items I've never received.

I agree, and recently they have been providing me with fabulous customer service. I had an issue with a reserve order being the wrong model/dimensions/conditions, and they really went above and beyond to try and make it right.

After a lot of back and forth I ended up not purchasing the bag, and I wasn’t exactly the easiest customer to deal with, and they still really valued me as a customer with my next purchase.

My experience with the personal shoppers has been really great. My PS in New York is the one who brought to my attention all the undisclosed damage. I tend to call the personal shoppers a lot, and I think after awhile you get assigned to a particular one (at least that’s my theory since I always get the same PS in Carlsbad and NY).

I also notice their quotes have gotten a lot better. I’ve been a long time fan of FF, and the listing issues are concerning, but I am getting the impression they are really trying to fix the issue.
