Hi! Just want to share a pic of my 35cm sellier Kelly with ghw in box calf leather. It's blue but I'm not sure what Hermes calls the shade. if anyone knows the colour name do let me know. It looks very dark, like navy without much lighting while in broad daylight the blue hue is obvious. It's an E stamp.
Tq!

Just guessing...could it be blue de Prusse?

If you love it as it is, keep it as it is. You know your bag - if it's structurally sound, you are fine.

I had a craftsman offer to replace the hardware on my 1952 box Kelly just to modernize it - when I declined he smiled and said "I was hoping you'd keep the brass". Paris is probably just letting you know what you CAN do. (Personally I'd take the strap....I need to get a strap made for my twin of your Rouge H bag.)
Replace the brass on a 1952 bag??
QUELLE HORREUR! :faint:

she’s turning 75 year old... I find it fascinating that H was still in production during WWII...
looking forward to celebrating 100 year old with her
Wonderful and amazing bag!
Production during WWII is indeed fascinating if a somewhat shameful bit of history for French fashion. The industry as a whole arrived to an agreement to continue production with the collaborationist Vichy government that included dressing and supplying the spouses of the German military and government officials. Those who refused, like Madame Gres (who was jewish) were closed down.

If you still don’t understand that there is not enough information to give an informed answer to your question here are some pointers:
what is its age; does it have its shoulder strap; what is the asking price?

On face value it look very desirable, but it’s just a nice picture of the front; it could have a deep scratch on the back or stains on the inside. Then it’s a 28 and 25s are what people want now - but you really want a 30 and this has become available?
There are so many other factors.
Don’t expect people who have considered all these things with their own purchases to be able to just say simply yes or no.

Thank you for the information. I’m also trying to figure out more about the fashion industry and H back in the war days. I couldn’t find much except for Coco Chanel’s story.

Hi all!

Does anyone here have pictures of box in the colour Bleu de prusse? I’ve recently been given the opportunity to order an item in this leather and colour and would greatly appreciate any photos of how the colour looks in both bright and dim lighting.

Thanks much <3
