The F/W 2011 collection includes a series of bags and SLGs done by painstakingly cutting velvet and painted python leather into strips and sewing each piece together while ensuring the python design (pattern?) still looks like a cohesive whole on the bag. Done in 3 color combos.

Lace was one of the prevailing themes and inspiration for the F/W 2011 collection and here's 2 other interpretations done on the knot:

Nero Plaster Metal Lace Karung Knot
(the lace pattern here is made of hand-hammered black silver; the frame of the knot is made of karung)

Cioccolato Plaster Embossed Lace Cuir Knot
(the lace pattern here is embossed and done in leather with silver stud accents)

I'm not sure if Coture is the name of the bag or the treatment but this was part of Spring/Summer 2011 collection. Part intrecciato and part light calf leather are stitched together to form the bag. Done in Nero and Light Titanium.

It is probably the name of the treatment not the bag
they haven't been naming the new bags it seems
only Icon bags get names anyway
seasonal bags do get names but it comes from the treatment like the nuance bag from I think two seasons ago
the nuance came from the color of the bag but everyone called the bag "the nuance bag"
It really wasn't named by the company people just started calling it that
if I remember correctly

Various twists and braids comprised the Spring/Summer 2011 collection. This bag has a pretty long name - Chene Intreccio Twist Polonaise Python Cross Body Cubo bag and is meticulously-crafted of both python skin and polonaise (calf) intrecciato. Note that the python fettuce have been given a final dark wash - known as ecorce - that highlights the darker lines of the skin.

Back to F/W 2011... a couple of framed clutches incorporated new textures.

Petal Clutch (available in Resina and Nero)

Made from perforated calf leather that is cut into strips and attached to the bag's frame in such a way that it looks like leaves and flowers. The closure is hinged on a frame and opens to a large inside main compartment. There is intrecciato detail on top and middle.

Paillette Clutch (only in Nero)

Construction is quite similar to the clutch above but this one uses light calf leather and each piece is shaped like circular paillettes (hence the name).

This new treatment for Cruise 2011 reminds me of the Corda treatment used on some Cruise 2010 cabats ... but instead of a thin rope being inserted in between random places on the fettuce, this one has linen strips. I guess we'll have to wait for the name of the treatment but the color in the photo is called Shock.

The official name of the treatment in post #158 is Nastri. It's Italian for "ribbons" which explain the material inserted on random sections of the weave.

BTW, the bag is call Nappa Nastri Lido Intrecciato bag. It seems like they now call the "mini cabat replacement" the Lido bag. It's been 2 seasons in the row when the name is used. Comes in 3 colors: Shock/Plaster, Tourmaline/Plaster and Chene/Plaster.

From the upcoming S/S 2012 collection and applied on a clutch and certain pieces of RTW. Made from various pieces of fabric cut into squares and sewn into a bigger piece of material (canvas? or cotton?). The overall effect is like an abstract intrecciato pattern.

Tourmaline Cloth Punto Mocassino treatment on an upcoming Cabat from the Spring/Summer 2012 Men's collection. Tubular fettuce is woven in the usual intrecciato pattern and each resulting "square" is then stitched on all sides imparting some kind of 3D effect.

Nervature (plural for the Italian word nervatura) which means nerves. When applied to design and architecture it is meant to symbolize as having a "veined" effect. The body is made of patchwork pieces with an intrecciato detail connecting each segment. This bag from the Cruise 2011-2012 collection is made of waxed calf leather and comes in 2 sizes and colors (Tourmaline and Espresso). It is buttery soft, super light and a good choice for an everyday bag. Great for those looking for an unusual BV that's not entirely woven. The sides of the bigger version can be tucked in (like how you'd do so in a Cabat) and the end-result is a unique shape. There is an interior pocket inside the bag as well as a mobile phone pocket and no top closure.

This particular treatment will be carried over to Spring/Summer 2012 since I saw them do this in Cloth croc. Cloth is the color name.

The larger tote measures 15.2" W x 11.2" H x 6.9" D and a drop of 7.1"

The smaller one is 12.6" W x 9.1" H x 6.3" D with a drop of 7.1"
