Another update
An influencer posted she was having the same oxidation issue with her new booktote. I DMed her and found out she’s also a member of this forum
She encouraged me to try again, bc she heard from many people in the US and Europe who were able to get a new bag as replacement or store credit. Ngl I was really nervous, bc the first boutique totally gaslighted me and questioned if it was something I did to the bag. I was traveling and took it to the original boutique where I purchased it. The manager was so nice and immediately said he has seen this happen before. So I was given a store credit and got a new medium lady D-Joy! I’m so relieved and excited. I purchased the booktote when they still charged for personalization and even got refunded for that. Shoutout to this forum and the supportive members
