Beware: Best faked bags in the market

This is old news fake designer bags have been returned back to regular retail stores for years now. There's plenty of horror stores on this platform where people have purchased online returned fake designer bags that was swapped out. The distribution center just scan the barcode and put the merchandise back into inventory there's no checking the merchandise to see if it's a fake.
I wouldn't trust purchasing from online LV because of an extremely high amount of return merchandise which again I saw from this platform.
I read about people buying designer bags on ebay and then claimed they’re fake and reported it to ebay. Sellers then ended up out of a bag and money. I know some friends with legit items who no longer sell on ebay for that reason.

There’s another subreddit for replica watches, and a lot of the members mention that they’d buy the real deal, but the brands are manufacturing scarcity and everything is either a multi-year wait list or paying 3-4x the retail price to a reseller.

The Tiffany blue Rolex is a common example - it’s their entry level watch yet you can’t buy one from any dealers and resellers are charging $25k+ for a $5k watch. It’s easy to see how this would push people into the replica market.
Browsed through that Reddit section and wow they actually do the comparison all the way down to the watch movement. The fake watches industry really upped their game. I used to see people peddling fake watches on main streets in Toronto and NYC and they would get chased by the cops.

I don’t know why Reddit supports forums that blatantly promote illegal activities. Shouldn’t they stop this???

I don't think it goes against their TOS since they are not doing any actual monetary transactions on there. In the grand scheme of things, there are many more toxic and terrible subreddits than one about fake purses.

Have any of you seen one of these fakes in person? I'm asking because a few on that subreddit look fake to me. Others seem to be clones of the authentic bag. Wondering if the feel of the leather or the weight of the bag seems the same. One would think that the boutiques could tell the difference.

I have seen a few super fakes in India back market in Delhi. Real leather and every detail meticulously copied. Authenticators have a hard time identifying these replicas. The weight feel smell look etc are identical and it's scary!

I have read some celebs actually have the real bag and also a super fake replica. They use the replica in case it's damaged or stolen and keep the real one displayed at home. Especially for Birkin and Kelley bags.

Reddit recently took down the buy sell trade forums for the watches and the purses. My assumption would be that as they get closer to becoming a publicly traded company, they’ll start to filter stuff out.

A friend of mine has ordered a couple for his wife. I’d say that just like everything else, there’s a spectrum. He had an LV onthego mono that looked absurdly bad, and an Hermes Evelyne that looked/felt spot on.

I'm friends with a manager at a Nordstromrack. He personally told me he took merchandise away from a reseller and had her and her friends banned from this store. I pulled up the resellers ig account and showed him her picture and I'm sure I came across this person early mornings when this Rack or Tjmaxx opened up. I was told when I posted pictures of finds in the early mornings this reseller was coming behind me buying up all the inventory. Let's just say I stopped doing this.
I follow this reseller and she brags about multiple bags and SLGs she could purchase in ONE trip! How could Chanel let this happen?

One thing that worries me that I haven't seen mentioned is the risk of getting a super fake even when buying directly from the store or online. If I purchase a YSL or Valentino bag from Neiman Marcus (or even directly online from YSL or Valentino) how do I know I haven't been sent a super fake. A scammer could purchase the bag, do a return, returning the super fake and the store employee may not catch it if it's a really good fake. That actually happened to someone on Instagram when she purchased Chanel boots. She caught it though and did get her money back, but the SA who helped her, didn't even notice before shipping the boots.

Thank you, thank you. I wanted to say what you just said but I know some people on this platform wouldn't never believe this would happen. And not from a boutique of all places. The Sa are not trained to authenticate merchandise. So yes a good superfake could get returned back. I did mention LV online and with poor quality control there's a lot of returns back online and at the boutique.
And I guess now with the microchip registration this might be a solution to slow down the market of some super fakes.

So the new bags with chips have not been replicated yet? That's good to know. Though I imagine it would be easy enough to fake a metal plaque and since only Chanel can scan it (and I think someone said the SAs won't do it at the boutiques) it almost seems easier for the replica makers going forward because the cards and especially the serial stickers were sometimes the only giveaway on superfakes. The ones I did see in person were exact on everything except those two points.

I'm not sure if the new bags with the micro chips have been copied yet if not now I'm sure soon.
