Best way to 'detax' after H in Europe

So I am going to Paris after my finals and then to Japan, and then returning to the UK after two weeks to attend my graduation. Is it ok to detax in Paris rather than when I'm in the UK?
Yes. You can and technically should detaxe when you first leave the EU. You do have six months to file so can do it from the UK if necessary.

Is there a way to know which refund just posted on my credit card? I am due three tax refunds (H Sevres, H RSH, and Chanel RDC). One refund has posted. I'm guessing it's Chanel as that one didn't have to be mailed, but how do I know for sure? All of the refunds are around the same amount.

Chanel uses premier and Hermes uses global blue if that helps.

Like to check, if I buy items in London but will be leaving Europe from Paris, would I be able to scan the forms using Pablo in CDG? Would the refund for items purchased in London be in GBP or EUR assuming I chose the credit card option. Thanks

As the UK is still part of the EU, all tax refund should be processed in your last EU stop, which is CDG. Items are refunded in the currency you bought in and usually converted by your CC issuer.

Please everyone if you don't see your forms within global blue's tracking system within 3-4 weeks contact them. Another snafu with my forms. They have them. God knows what they were doing with them. There were two from Hermes. One for 200 euros was stamped my Pablo. The other for 2000 euros was stamped by the agent after I showed him the merchandise. The Pablo form was in process and should be coming any day. It just wasn't in their system. The more expensive one was sitting somewhere untouched. I think they didn't bother to look in the agent stamping computer system so they assumed it wasn't stamped and left it at that. There will be a delay of 3 weeks because they just figured it out. They really stink. It should dawn on them that a large amount often requires agent approval and they should look there. This has happened to me before.

So feel free to bug them soon and often. It took them a week and a half to get back to me with this info. I requested it via email. I think the phone is faster if you have the patience to hold for a long time.

Grrrrrrr....

Thanks, @PdP. I contacted them last Friday (maybe too soon?) via email after I scanned my forms on 4/29. I was concerned since I didn't see any of them in their tracking system. Ugh. Makes me wonder if I did it right, but I remember seeing that smiley face several times...

I think you did the right thing to contact them sooner rather than later. I'll bet your forms are ok but it would be good to know. One member recently told me that she got her refund but it never appeared in their tracking system. Global blue told her that the tracking system isn't always accurate. [emoji849]

I think the agent stamped forms are the biggest problem. I wish I had contacted them sooner to avoid the extra three week delay.

KH8 with all due respect, I saw your comment on the Paris thread that the Hermes forms scan in Pablo so there was no need to show goods. I didn't respond because it was off topic but you cannot base things on one experience. I am a frequent shopper and have been through every possible scenario. Sometimes Hermes forms scan and sometimes you do have to see the agents.

Thanks, @PdP. I'll update everyone once I hear from them. Urgh. Odd, because my experience leaving France last September was very smooth too AND the forms were trackable at around the three-week mark. Maybe Global Blue is backed up..? Hope you get your refund sooner than three weeks, but I'm also glad you're getting it, period.

I do remember I left from a different terminal vs. this past April, but that shouldn't make a difference. There was only one set of mailboxes to drop your envelope in at Terminal 2 vs. last fall, but I digress...

True.. I only tried 5 times throughout these 2 yrs so I tried to delete the comment but somehow there s no button for it (I did report the comment myself asking admin to delete it as it s off topic)

The only time the pablo failed since its implementation for my past experiences would be the time when I tried to do tax refund for my wedding dress where refund amount was over €1500
I did suspect the pablo wouldn't give me the "OK" becoz the refund amount was over €1000 but again as you said, it's just my one time Pablo fail experience at Paris and I m not sure about the real reason so I shouldn't be commenting on the matter

As I suppose I have been extremely lucky for the past 7 yrs with tax refunds in London, Paris, Milan, Japan, S.Korea, I feel very grateful and I wish u manage to have a smooth refund process from now on too^^

Thank you. Yes, I think the large amounts or the presence of a lot of jewelry trigger the refusal by Pablo. It almost always works out in the end, but it is frustrating that we all know the process and follow the correct steps, and yet there are often hiccups.
