Have anyone dropped their tax form in the dropbox at Paris CDG airport, and it didn't reach Global Blue later?

It seems my tax forms from last Sept/Oct (yes, I've been procrastinating on checking the status lol) was never received by Global Blue, though I did dropped it in the box at the airport. I've just emailed Global Blue with a picture of my form, will this be sufficient? Does anyone know how the process will be like in such cases?

See above. They probably received it but the agent might not have stamped it correctly. This is happening quite a bit. They will get back to you in a day or two to let you know. If that's the case there is a process to get it stamped at your local consulate. I described it above as well but global blue will tell you what to do. Bottom line is that it's a pain in the neck to do so if it's not a significant amount it's not worth the trouble, but if it us it's worth it.

Thanks Pocketbook Pup! Gosh, I wasn't expecting it to be that troublesome [emoji27] It's a few hundred euros, but I'm travelling extensively for the next few months so if I really have to get it stamped at a consulate, I might just give it up.

I usually request for cash but the staff at the counter explicitly said that I couldn't get cash for Hermes, and I was like [emoji848] I couldn't rebut her so for the first time I dropped into that box and this happened. Oh well.

Hello,

I have recently came back from Paris to Singapore and I have a Hermes tax refund form which have the Paris export validation stamp and I would like to mail it to the correct address from my home country singapore. I would like to check if the correct address to mail the tax refund form to is as follows per the envelope provided:

Service Detaxe Groupe Herme
Autorisation 89129
75443 Paris Cedex 09

Thank you for all your help in advance

Hi all,

I haven't shopped overseas extensively ever but had a great time on my trip in late Feb. I have received all but one of my refunds. Our flight was early and the Kiosk accepted all 7 of my forms. I mailed them from the airport.

The refund in question is from Hermes Sevres location, I took photos of everything and I noticed that this envelope had a Paris address while my other FSH purchases had Global Blue Slovakia on them. This was an exotic CDC so it's not a huge refund, 169 euros and the tracking online can't find the number. I just emailed all the info to them to see what's up but has anyone noticed a difference in processing times with the Paris envelopes?

I will say that Premier/Chanel was super quick. I got the refund in exactly 28 days. Hermes FSH purchases and Givenchy came through in about 40 days.

I purchased from Sevres before but didn't notice anything different with the envelope. It was for twillies and shoes though. Not much help sorry, but I would like to point out that initially I emailed them when I wanted to follow-up another refund (Balmain and Prada), I got no reply in one week. But when I messaged them through facebook, I got a response in a few hours. Maybe you could try that for faster response.

I was just talking to a fellow TPFer about the same thing and she mentioned your post.

I was in Paris in mid-February and purchased from both FSH and Sevres. I also noticed that the address on the envelopes was different, but forgot to take a picture of the envelopes and the tax refund forms so I have nothing but my customer receipts. Pablo rejected both forms so I had them hand stamped and dropped them in the detaxe mail box. I received the refund from Sevres after about a month and still have not received a refund from FSH . This morning I went on Global Blue' s tax refund tracker and like yours it indicates that my form was not received .

Unlike you, this was my bigger receipt as I purchased a bag and wallets ..

I am not sure what if anything can be done but like you I am inquiring about it. Did you mention in your communication that the refund went to another address ? I did not think to mention that.

Does your receipt have your document number for the vat refund? If so email global blue and ask about it. They will tell you what to do next. If you don't have it that's more difficult. Maybe try to contact Hermes,

I just checked and realized that I still don't have the VAT refund from Hermes from my mid-Feb trip either. I received my other refunds from the same trip earlier this month (also Global Blue). My Hermes purchase was at FSH and I'm pretty sure it went to the Slovakia address for Global Blue. I think I would have noticed if it went to a Paris address. Maybe Hermes and Global Blue are changing their internal processes and refund are taking longer or something. My forms went through Pablo without incident (my Hermes purchase only shoes so not too much).

Thank for your response. Yes, the receipt does have the document number on it, so i did email Global Blue through their refund tracker section of the website.

Another tpf friend :hugs: just advised me that there is only a 90 day period within which to apply for the refund, and I am 60 days into it so I need to get moving on this. lol -- I paid duty coming into the US on my purchases, so I'd really love to get this back.

My two envelopes were for sure different, one was Slovakia as usual and the other I am not absolutely certain about, although Paris does sound familiar. I remember thinking at the time that it didn't have to go far. I could kick myself for not taking pictures like I have always done!

I was just back in Paris and this time both Sevres and FSH had Slovakia envelopes.

Don't worry. You will get it. Global blue will get back to you. My guess is that they will say that they received it but it wasn't stamped properly by the agent. This has happened to me several times. If it's a small amount I let it go. If it's a large amount global blue will send you the form to take to your local consulate. It's a pita but it works and you will get your money. This all doesn't happen in 90 days and that's ok. I went through the whole process once.

Hi Sbelle,

Thanks for reminding me of this, I just got the email back from Global Blue:

Please be informed, that your tax free form xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx issued by Hermes was successfully electronically validated by French customs system Pablo on 28.2.2017, however the refund has not been processed automatically.

We have now returned the form back to process and the refund will be procesed to the credit card registered by retailer xxxxxxxxxxx

The processing time is approximately 3 weeks.

Processing time of banks and credit card companies is excluded.

Please contact us in case you don't receive the refund in relevant time.

Thanks very much! I went back and looked at my records and I was confused. I actually did receive the bigger refund from FSH and it is the smaller one from Sevres that is outstanding. I feel much better now-- at least I got the big one!

The closest French consulate is about 2 1/2 hours from where I live, so if it requires going there I am not sure it is worth my time and gas. But I will wait and see what Global Blue says.

The refund in question is from Hermes Sevres location

MrsOwens3 -- I was wrong before, my refund in question is also from Sevres and it had the different address too. The only difference is that mine was hand-stamped.

Oh good. Yes mine is 2 hours away and open limited hours too. I did it for a 1000 euro refund but not for 150 euro refund. I had one large fsh form that needed to be stamped by the agent so I'm praying it went through this time.

I took everything other than Hermes in cash at the airport. I hope they change their system to make that possible.

I wanted to update everyone on my missing detaxe.

I talked to Global Blue today and they did receive the form and it is being processed. No information on why this took longer than the other one, but it should be reflected lon my credit card soon. Yay!

Thanks to all for your thoughts and information. It is good to know that if the detaxe doesn't go through there is a process that can be used with the French consulate.
