Being Banned From Coach Stores - Did You Read?

I've bought a few things at my local outlet and resold them on ebay. I bought them when they were clearanced out, plus an extra 20% off and asked a fair price for them on ebay. I do this now and then to finance my bag habit. :smile1:

But honestly, with all the ebay and paypal hassle, not to mention that a buyer all but recently stole a Coach wristlet from me and it appears that neither paypal or ebay care, I doubt I'll do it much more. Too disheartening.

I do the same thing. I'm not worried about it, it's free enterprise. I don't do it often, it's maybe 10 bags a year if I see an awesome deal. For me, I'm an excellent bargain shopper and it's a way for me to make a bit of extra money.

Having said that, we are all entitled to our opinions and I'm not disrespecting anyone who thinks this is wrong, but I'm entitled to my opinion also.

I'm so torn on this topic. I've read every post & value all the opinions.

I think it's great that you can go to ebaY and buy a vintage or no-longer available style Coach bag from someone's private collection. It's also great that someone from Australia or wherever doesn't have to pay over $600 for a bage that's maybe $400 here.

But I'm also glad that Coach is keeping a careful eye of where its products end up. They are protecting the customer from sharks who buy up all the rare stuff and mark it up sky high, and from those who would "clean out" the outlets to the point that other customers (like me) can't find what they want.

I don't buy on ebaY because I'm afraid of getting a fake, and I have an outlet within an hour's drive. I just don't know what to think, sorry not too helpful here.

I'm confused...why would a customer be banned for returning w/o a receipt? I thought that was one of the perks Coach provided their customers.:shrugs:

It's moreso a thing with sketchy customers doing it in a short period of time. Not all Coach stores allow returns without receipts (ms. whitneys store is one of them), so when a customer comes in a few times in a short period returning things without receipts and the staff sort of finds it fishy, they will receive a letter saying from now on they must return with a receipt.

Ok. I have a VERY STUPID question.

I have never bought a Coach from a Coach boutique or outlet. Mainly because ive been stuck up here in central Alaska for years. And also, because I either buy on eBay or receive them as gifts!!

So, here is my question.

When you buy from a Coach store, do you HAVE to give them all your contact information?

Sorry, but that doesnt fly with me. LOL! I NEVER hand out my personal information when I shop at stores.

Every darn time I go into Home Depot with my husband, they always ask for my phone number!! And I always tell them "sorry, I dont give that info out".

So, if the answer is YES you have to give that info out. Then why is it?

If the answer is NO, then how on earth would Coach, as a whole, know how much stuff I am buying from them?

if you pay with cash, you don't have to. If you plan to pay with any other form, be prepared to fork it over.

I've given false phone numbers before, not at Coach but at other stores. Sometimes it's just annoying although I did work at Bath & Body Works a few years ago and phone info was used for marketing purposes to send coupons. I "make up" info all the time when I'm on the internet.

I don't like it when they ask for all my personal information. I understand they do it to track my purchases, and that's fine, but it still makes me uncomfortable. Especially when they ask to see my driver's license when I make a purchase, and they take all my info off of it. It makes sense if they just need to glance at it to make sure the credit card I'm using is mine, which it obviously is because my picture is printed on the front of it, but when they keep it and take info off of it it annoys me. Not sure why. I guess I feel it's nosy.

Ok.. so your going to ban someone from your forums for trying to make some money? Wow lame, who gives a crap. Does it really hurt anyone accept the person who is stupid enough to buy it? People always list Playstation 3's on ebay for a drastic price over what it should be. Seriously, you guys are a bunch of middle aged spazes.
