I would never call LP asking for any thing...zip, zero. If those MFers don't let you return, with receipt, according to the policy on the receipt, file a big fat chargeback.

That makes me wonder if being banned is a corporate thing or up to the managers decision? I ask because there is one manager at the Leesburg store that I feel "watches me like a hawk".
Thanks everyone for the feedback.
Re. the items I want to return w/ an expired card....I was the victim of CC identity theft (someone stole my # (but not the actual card) and used it about 2 years ago, so my bank issued a new card w/ a new number... (my bank actually told me I could still use that card FOR RETURNS only, but it has since expired). My new CC account is tied to this old CC#/account, but I don't see how Coach could know that, which is why I was thinking they'd have to send me a refund check instead.
Do anyone know if this has happened yet to anyone? I am sure other people pay cash too and may not be in the system. Has anyone read about this on previous posts?
Because most often Coach FP stores and outlets will still ask for an ID even from cash customers. From what I've read in other threads on this forum, Coach will refuse a sale to a customer who doesn't show an ID. Once you're in their system, they track all your purchases and returns (outlet, FP store and online).
I believe there's a pricepoint at which they check an ID and if you want to make the purchase, you need to show it. Below that price point, they request name and address but you can decline.I thought you need to provide a name and address regardless if you are using cash or cc. I also heard if you use cash you need to provide driver's license? Am I just imagining these things?!

True, but they can also refuse the sale.I am a former victim of identity fraud and use cash for everything. When I pay at Coach I never give my name.
While the store will ask you for your name, zip code, and email address... you can refuse. I have done this with all of my transactions, many that are over $1,000. I am actually pretty sure when paying in cash, no store can require an ID to complete the transaction.

Yes, that's correct. As long as the transaction processes (meaning the card hasn't been reported lost or stolen), they aren't allowed to ask for an ID to pay for the purchase. They actually can not require ID with a credit card payment either... unless your credit card is not signed. I talked with a manager about this policy.
Scary but true.
I'm sorry but you are incorrect. The only way a store can require an ID with cash payment is if you are buying something that requires proof of age.... alcohol etc.
Coach can request you ID but can not refuse a sale on a cash payment because of it.

They can refuse a sale as long as they aren't refusing for reasons that are illegal. They can refuse cash sales or credit sales.
Yes, Coach can refuse to sell to you as long as it isn't violating Federal Law.
