Being Banned From Coach Stores - Did You Read?

Insane. How often were you in the store recently? I only go now about once a month at most... guess I should walk in and ask if I've got a letter too.
I'm wondering that about myself as well. I"ve only shopped at the outlets 4-5 times in the last year, but before that when the deals were better and the limits weren't so stringent I was buying a lot. It's possible that Coach has revised their ban criteria and may be looking further into past buying history.

10K shares isn't small potatoes! So many suggest writing letters to corporate and get no response. I suspect a letter from a 10,000 share stockholder or a copy of the letter at an annual meeting might be more apt to have an impact.
A stockholder could even go to the annual shareholder's meeting and if there's a Q&A might have the opportunity to ask the executives in front of everybody why she got banned.

okay a little off topic but I'm watching the Hoarder episode now and a NWT Camel Gigi the consignment lady said she could sell for $200 or $250 in her shop (and Theresa only getting half). They need better "handbag specialists" who understand the true value of these bags...

LOL, I got sidetracked and watched the whole episode of hoarders too. My eyes opened wide when I saw that NWT Gigi too!!! Funny how she was saving that good bag somewhere.

Sorry this letter has happened to you gals. :(

Just wanted to give an update on the status of all my NWT returns I gathered up from my closets after I got my ban letter a few weeks back ....
I just got back from vacation over the weekend and spent 3 hours last night going through and highlighting/numbering/matching up my receipts w/ the items to be returned to the outlet.
I caved and decided to end up breaking my returns (by CC) up into two trips (trip #1 was tonight) returning stuff purchased on two separate cards. I plan to go before the weekend to make trip # 2 to return the rest of my items (which are on two other CCs (one of which is expired, so I guess I'll end up getting a check refund for those items?).

Of course I got a newbie SA tonight and it took almost 40 mins. for her to process the return for my 17 items....My grand total credited back to these 2 CCs was $995. I just counted and I still have 35 more items to return so I'm guessing that will be another $1,500 right there. (BTW, 95% of my 52 items was accessories...I really had no idea how many accessories I actually had in my collection).

I was a little embarrassed at first when I put all the shopping bags on the counter, but it got easier the longer I was there....I was good and even kept "blinders" on so I wouldn't get tempted to look around at the current stock.
One of the managers (apparently unaware of my 'banning') did say, "WOW that's a lot of returns, any particular reason for all these returns?", so I told him that Coach banned me and if they no longer wanted my business I no longer wanted to spend my money there, and was returning everything I had that was NWT.. Of course there was no response to my comment, he just sort of wandered away as if he hadn't heard me.

What I did find quite ironic was that in the 40 mins. I was there, two diff. people checked out in the lines on either side of me who each bought three of the SAME style and color purse, and no one said a word to them.
After wracking my brain these past two weeks, I've come to the conclusion that Coach's whole business model makes absolutely no sense at all....and that's all I have to say about that!

Amen to that!

Good for you for returning all those bags and getting your money back... and that's a considerable chunk of change! When you're done, you could probably go on a cruise somewhere exotic if you wanted to, and that's exciting!

As for cute, non-Coach bags, might I recommend you check out the Kate Spade website if you haven't recently? That's a brand I can kind of see myself changing to from Coach... and the prices are actually more reasonable for the bag you get (though I still have to research the leather quality more thoroughly. Still. Adorable bags and accessories!).

Good for you.

It gets put back on your card and then you have to contact your cc company for them to send you a refund check. Thats better (and more secure) than having coach send you a check themselves.
Congrats on taking the stuff back.

Good for you!!! I hope the manager has to explain the returns to corporate. I hope you wore another brand bag into the store!

Good for you and I hope that you plan to send coach corporate your own version of "The Letter!" I hope you had fun on vacation and that you will put the refund money toward your next vacation!

Good for you. It must also feel good getting rid of all those accessories you weren't using. Now you can go on another vacation and buy another bag from another designer.

i've got to agree with this.... i mean why even have the stuff is you aren't using it? if it's been in your closet with tags this long... guess you didn't really want it anyways! :p (i still would have taken it all at once... hope you don't walk in to find you are banned from returns for the next batch!)

Did you get banned from the Leesburg store? The reason I ask is because I have had big transactions there and always get questions and looks. It is frustrating because they make me feel like I am doing something wrong. I love the jewelry and hair scarfs and own one of each. And recently, I have bought 3 highlight bags there , all in different colors, for myself. Now I am nervous that I will get the "letter". However, I pay in cash and don't give them my name when I check out. So I guess they really can't track me then?
