Being Banned From Coach Stores - Did You Read?

They might hand you a "Jane Doe" letter when you walk in or check out.
I supposed that would disallow future returns but when she got her ban letter, they told her (at the time) that she isn't prohibited from returning - only from buying.

So as long as she has her receipts for the NWT items, she shouldn't have a problem returning them, right?

CA-Anonymous, I recommend you return the rest of your items asap (and in one transaction) in case they decide to change the rules.

good for you CA-A!

as for the expired credit card, I'm pretty sure as long as the number is still the same(like they just sent a new one when the old one expired) you should be fine and it will just go back on the card. It's still the same account, just a new card.
I think the getting a check issued is more for when a credit card account was closed since the purchase or when a new number was issued for whatever reason.
good luck on the rest!

ita!

I meant for the buyer who said she paid cash and was afraid of getting a letter.

Does Coach ban you from the Outlet for shopping there too many times in a month? OR buying a few of the same items?

Well, I would say I've been a heavy buyer for the past 3 yrs. (which coincidentally started right around the time of me joining TPF:p). During my heaviest buying, I would visit my local outlet (which I live a 10 min. drive from) weekly or bi-weekly. Last year when I started becoming interested in another brand, I visited less often- probahbly once a month, however about 2 months ago, DH began taking a twice-weekly class nearby so over the past 2 months I've had time to kill while I wait for him, and I starting visiting the outlet once a week again (but not buying much at all).

In full price boutiques, I only visited/purchased during the quarterly (?) 25% off Preferred Customer Events (PCEs) ....so having said all I'm thinking that it might have been a combination of the two (seeing that I do like to be matchy-matchy and if I found a style/line I liked, I would buy a wallet/wristlet/mini skinny in many colors to match my handbags) that 'triggered' them to send me the letter.

Did you get banned from the Leesburg store? The reason I ask is because I have had big transactions there and always get questions and looks. It is frustrating because they make me feel like I am doing something wrong. I love the jewelry and hair scarfs and own one of each. And recently, I have bought 3 highlight bags there , all in different colors, for myself. Now I am nervous that I will get the "letter". However, I pay in cash and don't give them my name when I check out. So I guess they really can't track me then?

Yes, it was the Leesburg outlet.....If you don't give them your name and you pay cash, I don't see how they could track you....so I think you're OK as far as that goes.

That makes me wonder if being banned is a corporate thing or up to the managers decision? I ask because there is one manager at the Leesburg store that I feel "watches me like a hawk".

Thanks everyone for the feedback.

Re. the items I want to return w/ an expired card....I was the victim of CC identity theft (someone stole my # (but not the actual card) and used it about 2 years ago, so my bank issued a new card w/ a new number... (my bank actually told me I could still use that card FOR RETURNS only, but it has since expired). My new CC account is tied to this old CC#/account, but I don't see how Coach could know that, which is why I was thinking they'd have to send me a refund check instead.

Re. returning the remainder of the items ASAP....ITA! I plan to tomorrow...That's my fear as well, that they will see my first 'wave' of returns and cut me off from returns too!

Re. having the large number of items in my closet unused for so long-

You're absolutely right. I had this mentality that I wanted to have complete 'sets' of purses w/ ALL their coordinating accessories (and if a certain style I liked had 7 diff. types of accessories, then of course, I had to get them ALL...then was hesitant about using my new stuff, so it would all sit in my closet...waiting for its turn to see the light of day.
Then I would tend to rotate through the same 15-20 bags, and never get to the new stuff. I'm trying to break out of this cycle....guess I need some type of counseling to get over this 'hoarding/collecting" phase I'm in.

I went about a year ago and the scrves were usually over $100 and they were coming down to $12 with all the discounts. I wear a lot of head scarve so I believe I had about 8 maybe? The cashier said "let me find out if you can get so many," since they really were for me and not to resell, I had all different styles and prints. So she found out it was fine, but the exception would be I was not allowed to get more than 2 of the same design.

If you think you'll be banned from returns, call LP, and they can approve your return as well as call the store to tell them it's allowed.

Thanks for the tip....I think I'm just going to attempt my remaining returns before the weekend and if I do get flack from the outlet, I'll call the LP guy/investigator and see if he can work something out for me.

i wonder about that....if she purchased under a specified return policy, how can they alter that policy now, with the same merchandise?
You'd think that would be the case, but it seems like they leave their policies as generic/open-ended as possible to make it easier for them to modify as necessary to meet their needs (and to keep themselves out of legal trouble).

I'll keep you posted as to how the remaining returns go!

I would never call LP asking for any thing...zip, zero. If those MFers don't let you return, with receipt, according to the policy on the receipt, file a big fat chargeback.
