Being Banned From Coach Stores - Did You Read?

I'm a little late in responding, but here's my opinion:
I'd call LP to explain my side of the story (just to state my case & explain that they are wrong, for the record), making sure they get your name. Then, take everything back that has the tags on it. Anything questionable - I personally couldn't look at Coach the same, so anything with a tag & a receipt would be fair game.

Don't worry about how many things you're taking back at one time; I did an "anger return" last year because I was mad at Coach for not fixing my defective bag (no 40% off letter, no credit, just the bag that was a few months old in a box with a note saying "sorry!"). I took back about $700 of stuff to the outlet because if Coach won't stand behind its stuff, then I don't want any of it. Why would you want to go back more than once, if you're not even allowed to shop there anymore?

Sorry this happened to you!

You should take a dated pic of your purse room and send it with your letter to corporate showing them that you bought their product for yourself and you are not a reseller and let them know the total value of the items you are returning!

^^That's a great idea...I hope they actually look at it. I am still feeling very bad for you, since I now realize that it can really happen to any of us without there being any proof of reselling, just a history of buying a lot.

Great minds think alike.....Not that Coach Corporate will give a rat's patootie, but again, it will make me feel better, and that's what it's all about !! (j/k). I am always hoping to get the inpiration to get a customized closet system in my mast. BR closet but until then, I've bought a ton of these storage baskets/boxes from Tuesday Morning, which suffice for now. .....Problem is that they're everywhere and I haven't labelled everything yet (O/T- but does anyone else think it's crazy how much the Brother label maker tape is?? Everytime I turn around I'm running out and that tape is expensive....)
I just realized I didn't date the pics. (but realize that's easily manipulated on a camera), so once I organize better I'll get DH to take it w/ me holding today's paper or something....
Anwho, here it all is in it's though sadly in a very disorganized fashion....The close up of the shopping bags (1lg. 2 sm) are all the items I plan on returning to the outlet once I return from vacation next week....

There was a Coach lady on Hoarders?!

Well, not a "Coach" hoarder per se, she was a general handbag hoarder and it turned out that she mostly bought from unscrupulous online sites, so when the 'expert authenticators' came to help get all of her purses organized and to establish prices for her to sell everything to a second-hand shop, it turned out 90% of her designer bags were fake. The look on her face when she heard that news was so sad~IIRC her husband said she'd spent their life savings on purses..... Let me see if I can find the thread it was discussed in.

ETA- Well I couldn't find the thread on TPF about it, but I found the actual episode on the A&E website (It's episode 31/season 3 and the lady's name is Theresa).

Wow... I am so sorry to hear this happened to you! Frightening to think this could happen to any one of us who purchase alot of Coach just because we happen to love the brand! I am not a re-seller either, but I know I have purchased more Coach in the last year than I have at any other time in the past. Today after work I stopped in my local outlet, and although I didn't buy anything, I was actually a bit on edge as the SA know my face wondering if one of them was going to come up and hand me a letter! lol Also, and I apologize if this was already asked, but I wonder what dollar amount triggers one being banned? 5K, 10K or more, or what? And are the purchases Coach tracks exclusively to the outlet store or the full price store as well? And lastly, I wonder for those who have been banned how long that ban last, indefinitely or for a certain time frame?

I am so sorry to hear that!! I am afraid that one of these days I would get a letter too, especially given that a few months ago, I've hit the weekly purchase limit and the manager told me that I can't buy couple of items I had in my hand while I was in line. The utter embarrassment to be singled out at that time had me stop going to the outlets for a while.

I think if this were to happen to me, I would return everything that still have tags on, and it would likely take a few hours for Coach to process, and I would send copies of the return receipts to Coach. My DH, on the other hand, would be thrilled if I get a letter, so that it would put an end of my Coach compulsive purchase behavior. I've got to show him the Hoarder episode!!

Thanks for the link for the hoarders, etc.. But, back to the original topic, I would be so offended to be banned for spending too much money for a particular company and brand I love! That is just wrong.
