Being Banned From Coach Stores - Did You Read?

Yes I know that, but the question originated from someone who was wondering whats on the screen when they were asking her name and phone number. Then the other poster mentioned that all they see in the customer info screen is name, addy, phone, email, and PCE notes, which is correct. You said not really and made it seem as if all the customers preferences and history is in that screen too. I wanted to clarify without all the eye rolling.

To those who are confused, when you're purchasing an item, the SA sees your name, addy, phone, email, and PCE notes. They can go into another screen to see everything else, but usually if you only request to stay in contact or are looking for reseller cues.

i took it out before you replied but i guess you quoted before then, it was unnecessary and i admit that

but as a sales associate you should know that the first thing you do is check on client tracker before logging into the POS system, and i worked in a different state, and the way you "client track" is different from mine but regardlessssssssss of that you always check the F2 part first before ringing up a customer, it is an extra step but i have always done that..for reasons if you worked there you'd know.

and it toggles into the system so yes, you can see all that during POS

all of the stuff in client track which others have said, includes more then just name, address, and email, you can also look up their preferences, wishlists, etc.

Thank you for clearing that up :D:D - I don't understand the need for smoke and mirrors, it's just shopping not state secrets!

theres a reason for that, i think as a sales associate you'd have to have secrets to fight LP..loss prevention issues..

as you've seen with other members in the past, who've been known to be resellers, or those who abuse policy or those who "bend rules" lurk and learn from information stated, i'd love for everyone to be honest..but they're not.

if its been stated, i don't mind acknowledging because i didn't release the info~~but i always prefer to keep less out......so people don't know how LP detects and find a way around that

I was a store manager. It must have just been your store because I NEVER trained any associate or was trained myself to look in CT before ringing anyone. My sister works at the International Mall store in Tampa and says they don't do that either. It's unnecessary. No wonder all of these people are freaked out. Too much suspicious Big Brother in some stores.

i won't go into all the ways someone can scam..what store did you work in? was it one that was highly populated or one that was more suburbia? i feel like those that are in the city gets more traffic and more scammers..just my two cents. i was never "trained" that way, but i do it, i should be more specific when saying ringing a customer......if you'd like feel free to PM me and we can continue the discussion there

ETA--this is exactly why i never said anything, when referring to the big brother comment, i never, ever, would make a customer feel like their every movement is watched and it is exactly why the whole history purchase (which someone let out of the bubble) is suppose to be discrete. and a sales associate, manager, whatever, is not suppose to let the customer know, or make the customer feel bad for returning elsewhere, or whatever, if any time i had a customer be shady i just said sorry, i cannot process this, i do not give a reason because they would know that they are being shady. and if i didn't have absolute proof, i'd follow procedure which is to issue store credit w/o receipt for MFSRP or return if with receipt. simple as that. no need to make the customer feel bad or to know that it can be seen

at the end of the day, make sure the customer leaves happy. simple as that. i don't understand.........how people can complicate this, or not know what discrete means.

I had an SA call me about an hour after I left the outlet today and she asked if they accidentally gave me an extra fob (I can't remember if she was asking from last night's purchase or this afternoon's purchase) because they were supposedly short one or something. I don't know, but I thought this was strange. I didn't have any extra fobs and I said I would look to make sure and I did look while on the phone with her. I said no again. Should I be worried they are going to think I lied even though I didn't and that they will ban me or something?

Thank you for clarifying! I was wondering about what they see when they put in my name and number.

I know there are a few threads floating around on this topic, and doing a search found this one first....so I apologize if there is a more current thread.

I just wanted to add my story to the "Coach has banned me from future purchases" club.
Just as background for those who don't 'know' me from the Coach forum, I am an AVID (husband would call it fanatical) collector of all things Coach.
I live within 5 miles of an outlet and since joining the purse forum in 2008 my hobby (OK, small "addiction") had me going to the outlet on a weekly basis. Last year I cut back quite a bit and was only going once-twice a month. I only frequented the boutiques for PCEs (so 4-5 times a year)......Before I go further I must say that I AM ABSOLUTELY 100% NOT A RESELLER as today's ban letter to me insinuates. In looking back at ALL my purchases (I'm guesstimating that I've spent approx. 15K on Coach in the past 2 years (not all through stores- I have bought a lot on e-bay and bonanza trying to pick up pieces to 'complete' my set~I'm a matchy-matchy person who has to have the matching wallet, wristlet, mini skinny etc....for each purse I have), and while I have bought some multiples of things (where I've bought all the colors in a particular style coin purse/mini skinny etc....I don't normally tend to buy ANY of the exact same item except on the rare occasion I've bought two ponytail scarves or mini skinnies~one to keep for myself and the other give to gift.
Fast forward (or rewind actually) to two weeks ago. A co-worker (who knows I live close to the outlet) asked me if I could pick up 5 bridesmaids gifts for her.....I ended up getting 3 MFF PVC cosmetic cases and 2 prs. of the crystal double-heart earrings..... I don't know if that's what triggered it, but when I went into the store tonight (first time since two weeks ago), as the SA was ringing up my intended purchases , the store manager walked up and handed me the dreaded ban letter. I was absolutely dumb-founded and speechless. I asked if I could purchase what was being rung up and she said no, but that I was not banned from returns....so you know what I said to the SA as the manager walked away~ Oh yes, I WILL be returning, you'd better believe it!!!!
So I'm in my 'purse room' right now going through all my NWT items I can live without (and really I can live without it all, but as you fellow Coachies know, we don't really need it, but we have to have it!!!).
So my question to those who have also been banned (if you're still on TPF and willing to admit you were banned) is should I return these things in dribs-and-drabs or do one MASS return (which BTW will be about thirty items- mainly small accessories and 1-2 purses)??

I really don't want to put an SA through having to process all the returns in one transaction (as I imagine it would take at least an hour to ring up) but on the other hand, I'm worried that after my first return trip, they'll cut me off from returning too and I'll be stuck. Any advice?

Also, in reading back through these threads, it seems as though NO one has ever successfully "won" and gotten 'unbanned' from Coach, so is it worth it to even attempt to contact Coach Corporate to plead my case, or not? My co-worker (who i called already to vent) feels really bad about what happened and offered to call them and explain that the last purchases were actually for her, but I have a feeling they could care less.... On the flip side, I feel like if I don't even attempt to contact them, they'll take that as a "yep, she's not fighting, so therefore she IS a reseller"...so I'm in a quandary as to how to proceed on that front.
Well thanks for letting me vent. I'm still angry about all this, but I'm starting to come to grips with it, and am kind of glad I started moving on to another brand last year....makes letting go of Coach a little easier anyway.

So, sorry to hear this I would take it all back in one fell swoop! I wouldn't care how long it took! they "get paid by the hour not by the job" make sure you you have activate credit cards meaning not one you might had closed and now have a new reissued one or whatever form of payment the transactions were made with, so as not to get attitude issues on the money back to you from them.

I really wouldn't care how they looked at it, since they have already tagged you a reseller, when you know that is not the case. Get your money and use else where.

I'm flabbergasted!

Have you done a lot of returning without receipts or something? What in the world could make them think that you are a reseller? It seems like their darn letters never get sent to the right people!

If I were you, I would also call corporate and ask them to explain why you were banned? What reasons do they have to believe that you are a reseller?

I think you should return it all at one time and make them work for it!

That are a lot of other nice bags out there besides Coach, you should become a reseller and get rid of all your bags and find a new brand! :wtf:
