Being Banned From Coach Stores - Did You Read?

i've not returned anything coach. but from reading this thread, i was wondering what exactly they are looking at on their register screen each time i am purchasing at the outlet.

the last time i went to the outlets they asked for my phone number or name, enter it, check the screen, read out my address to me if that is correct, and kind of seemed to spend a few seconds looking over the screen. i'm going to crane my neck over the counter to see what they're looking at if i don't find out here!

^fyi the system takes a couple of days to update if not weeks..i haven't exactly pinpoint how many days but when i was there, it did not update on a daily basis like store inventory

i don't think thats what they're looking at..or if they use that as a basis then they could miss out on those who shop in the morning, afternoon and evening at different outlets or over the course of a few days.

I always decline the offer by SA's to wrap up items in back. The one and only time I let them do it, it was a keyfob for my brother's bday since it was a gift. He opened it, and instead of the hard-to-find racing car keyfob, it was a girly beach-themed charm keyfob. He was embarrased as he opened it at his party and I was seriously p.o'd since that keyfob had sold out. the store made it right and managed to track down the correct keyfob but lesson learned for me - anything wrapped needs to be done in front of me.
That's crazy. How can you mess up wrapping a keyfob. I would rather them just give me the box and paper and do it myself.

They are looking to see if you are outlet hopping - going from store to store to buy multiples of stuff beyond the allowable number of items.

No where on the screen does it say if one is "outlet hopping" or what they have previously purchased. All it has is name, address, phone number, and email. If a letter or PCE has been sent out, there is a notification at the bottom. That's it.

Sounds to me like the SA are doing it not corporate.

No, it's definitely corporate. The SA's don't care either way. They just enforce it and abide by the rules so they don't get in trouble or fired. For many of them it is a part-time job and could not care less if people by multiples, do returns without receipts, etc., they just don't want to lose their jobs.

ty!that is what i was guessing it was. but then i started imagining them thinking 'oh s-it! what the hell is she buying now?'

Care to clarify? Not trying to be snarky.

Maybe I've just been spoiled at my COACH stores and my friends who are SA's are different than most.

i didn't read it as snarky, :) so don't worry.

if your friends with an SA there and thats what they say i call BS.

the computer saves information of a client, to keep in touch, because if a customer requests to be told of what is going to be in, or make a wish list, etc, that gets saved in there too, so you don't just only see the name, address, phone number and email ;)

they also have a portion on the client form where it asks for lifestyle preferences, shoe size, outwear size, etc.. because thats also available to pick on the computer.

and so forth.

That's Client track. They don't see that in POS mode. Come on. You used to be an employee as I did. You know that.

^uhhhhhhhh its in the same computer????????????

so you can F2 and look at that BEFORE you ring on the same system? did you know when you worked there that client track and the POS system is tied together and can be toggled?

Yes I know that, but the question originated from someone who was wondering whats on the screen when they were asking her name and phone number. Then the other poster mentioned that all they see in the customer info screen is name, addy, phone, email, and PCE notes, which is correct. You said not really and made it seem as if all the customers preferences and history is in that screen too. I wanted to clarify without all the eye rolling.

To those who are confused, when you're purchasing an item, the SA sees your name, addy, phone, email, and PCE notes. They can go into another screen to see everything else, but usually if you only request to stay in contact or are looking for reseller cues.

Thank you for clearing that up :D:D - I don't understand the need for smoke and mirrors, it's just shopping not state secrets!
