Being Banned From Coach Stores - Did You Read?

Coach doesn't want people to COMPETE with them. This makes perfect sense. They don't want unauthorized people to profit off of Coach products. Imagine if you designed your own line of purses and sold them locally... Would you want someone to buy half of your stock from you so they could resell them at a higher price somewhere else and profit off of your hard work? I don't think you would.

It would depend. If I had made them myself, each one was carefully handcrafted, etc... probably not. If I had outsourced them to a bunch of cheap labor factories in China to be made for pennies, that would be a different story.

^^It doesn't just come down to the manufacturing. A lot of time and money go in to the creative process and it stinks to see vultures swoop in and profit off of something that they didn't have any time or money invested in the creation of. I think that when Coach has the deep discounts at the outlets it's intended to make the average Coach consumer excited, not to provide "wholesale pricing" for resellers.

They aren't allowed to demand a name and/or phone number at checkout anymore- at least not in California. I see people (mostly men) buying huge amounts of Coach, lots of duplicates, at the Camarillo outlet and nobody says anything. I would think that the SAs would be trained to not allow this in order to keep inline with Coach's resale policy, etc. However, it is obvious to someone brand new to the outlet that those people are buying to resell the items. It is ridiculous.

The Camarillo outlet is one of the worst. I've seen shoppers come in and sweep a whole shelf of bags into their huge shopping bags. Just out of curiousity how often do you make it to the Camarillo outlets, as I see you live in WA.

Creative process?

I like how every Coach outlet is now full of multicolored vinyl "speedy" style bags. Definitely some creative genius thought that one up. But I think his name was Murakami, and he didn't work for Coach.

When Coach has the deep discounts at the outlets, it's intended to make money for Coach. That is why they have stores. To make money. Not to make people excited. To get people's money.

The banning of resellers is purely financially driven. Not happiness driven. If Coach thought they could make money off resellers, they would welcome them with open arms. But for some reason they don't think that, so they ban them.

And continue to violate consumer privacy laws even after being successfully sued for it already.

I used to live near the Camarillo outlet for about 3 years until my husband got transferred to WA, where we are stationed for now. My friend still goes to Camarillo now. When I wrote the response you quoted, I was going to Camarillo once a week or every other week.

I'm 3 hrs away and so go about 10-12 times a year. If you don't get there by the time they open it's a real madhouse. The one good thing about it is in recent years they get a fair amt. of FP deletes.

Oh I agree. When I went I refused to go on weekends and would only go right when they opened or towards their closing time to avoid the crowds. It helped that I met quite a few SA's and could call ahead to hold items I wanted or get on client tracker. I miss that outlet

I Go to the Seattle Premium Outlets, borh Quilceda and North Bend.
North Bend is pretty slow but Quilceda is a madhouse full of... tourists. The most I have seen people purchase more than a handful of items.

I must visit SPO (Quilceda) at different times than you then because I see tons of tourists and some of them are buying multiples of the same items. There is usually a line out front on the weekends so I won't even go then. All I can think of is how a lot of these tourists are buying to just resell

Here is a GOOD one.... while at my local outlet I overheard a lady present her envelope with invitation to shop with a nice 20% off coupon. The invitation was addressed to her and she proudly took it to the SA along with a puzzled look because apparently she had been banned in the past!!! This was so much fin to watch. The SA did not know what do say. It appeared as though she had to accept it since the coupon invitation was addressed to the customer. Wow, that was good for her!

Just confirms my suspicions, they aren't keeping good tabs on their own marketing mailings and referencing banned list to make sure they don't bring someone in that's unwelcome. They've allowed too many loopholes for banned members to keep shopping..

Has anyone been banned from retuning items? I have just been. I have been trying to find the perfect grey purse. I only like shouldbags. I went to my local (Southlake Tx) store and was interested in the XL Julia 14997 in gunmetal, they didn't have either the size or color for me to look at , so I ordered it and was told I could return it no prob if I needed to. It came didn't like the color, it was too metalically, then I got the grey Madison Maggie and decided it just wasn't what I was looking for. When the chardoal patent leather Alexandra cane out I decided to get that. Well they took it to have it wrapped in the back, it was my xmas present, when I opened it there was a white patent leather bag instead. When I went to exchange it for the right color, I was told that I could not because I was banned from returns or exchanges from coach corp. With every exchange or return I have made, I have had my original receipt present. They actually accused me of some kind of fraud when I took the White Alexandra back, like I changed the bags or something. I've been told that I can buy all I want, but I can never exchange or return. Has anyone heard of anything like this before? They gave me a number to the corp office, but I haven't had a chance to call yet.
