Being Banned From Coach Stores - Did You Read?

I've returned 5 bags total in the last few weeks and haven't had any issues. I'd be pretty upset if I were in your shoes and would be on the phone with corporate pretty fast.

Has anyone been banned from retuning items? I have just been. I have been trying to find the perfect grey purse. I only like shouldbags. I went to my local (Southlake Tx) store and was interested in the XL Julia 14997 in gunmetal, they didn't have either the size or color for me to look at , so I ordered it and was told I could return it no prob if I needed to. It came didn't like the color, it was too metalically, then I got the grey Madison Maggie and decided it just wasn't what I was looking for. When the chardoal patent leather Alexandra cane out I decided to get that. Well they took it to have it wrapped in the back, it was my xmas present, when I opened it there was a white patent leather bag instead. When I went to exchange it for the right color, I was told that I could not because I was banned from returns or exchanges from coach corp. With every exchange or return I have made, I have had my original receipt present. They actually accused me of some kind of fraud when I took the White Alexandra back, like I changed the bags or something. I've been told that I can buy all I want, but I can never exchange or return. Has anyone heard of anything like this before? They gave me a number to the corp office, but I haven't had a chance to call yet.
that's crazy that they won't even correct there mistake. I don't like that going to the back and wrapping up your items. I want to see whats going in my bag.

I was given a number to call, with an extension. If i enter the extension, the call disconnects. If I don't I have to wait for some one to assist me. I've called 5 times so far and the longest I waited was for 70 min. I can't get through to speak to anyone. It's ridiculous! And every purchase I have made has been for me or a gift, I have never resold. Sometimes I just can't make up my mind between 2 or 3 or sometimes I am buying for gifts and I'll purposely over buy and sort it out at home and take back what I don't need. I do this a lot at the holidays since I give Coach as gifts a lot and have a huge family.

I haven't received a letter nor was I given one at the store. The SA told me as I was trying to exchange it. After she told me that I could not exchange or return, I told her I wanted a full return and if they did not I would call me credit card company right then and report the transaction. I was very loud and several customers standing in line remarked about how that was not right, especially since I had my receipt and walked out the door. After that she stated she would allow me a one time exception for that return.

Well I'm glad you did not get stuck with that bag. I thought they were suppose to give you a letter if you got banned. It just does not sound right.

I think you guys may be right that it's a particular store. When I couldn't get through to the number they gave me, I called their customer service number and she said she was looking at my account and had no idea what I was talking about. She asked if I received a letter or if one was given to me at the store and I told her no. She told me to keep trying the other number to get clarification. If it's the store then I can take my business to another one. I live in the DFW area and we have plenty of stores. Though this particular store is in one of the wealthiest areas (Southlake, TX) and I will make sure to tell everyone I know about this and discourage them from that store. I have poured a lot of money over to that store, even after moving to a larger house, I had to have my closet expanded for my bags and boots. But from what i've read it seems that it's the stores that alert corp and then the letter comes. I don't care about 1 store, but don't want to be banned from all. I do know that there is 1 SA that does not like me, it's easy to tell by her attitude. But the SA's always encourage to buy, buy, buy and if you change you're mind it's no problem just bring it back. So very frustrating.

^I would ask corporate to send your request for a call back to the DM of that area, and see if you can get them to look more into it. If you are a good upstanding customer I think they'll want to keep your business. Sometimes until you track down someone who's willing to get the answer you seek, it's not as easy as it should be to find someone that cares.

I always decline the offer by SA's to wrap up items in back. The one and only time I let them do it, it was a keyfob for my brother's bday since it was a gift. He opened it, and instead of the hard-to-find racing car keyfob, it was a girly beach-themed charm keyfob. He was embarrased as he opened it at his party and I was seriously p.o'd since that keyfob had sold out. the store made it right and managed to track down the correct keyfob but lesson learned for me - anything wrapped needs to be done in front of me.

Thanks for the heads up on the Southlake store, I'll stay away from that one too. Sounds like you may have a snooty SA on your hands. Unless you have abused the return/exchange policy, there shouldn't be a problem doing that.

How embarrassing! I don't like that they wrap things up in the back either. My store is pretty reliable, but I usually check my stuff out before I leave the mall anyway...even if it's gift wrapped. I can re-tie the bows if I have to!
