Ok, just to add my two cents... again... when I spoke to the SA today at my outlet I was told, yes only 3 of the same style # at once. So I am extremely happy that they are limiting it at the Howell outlet. It actually gives the people who want the item to get it at the good price, other than letting the people who sell on the bay buy them ALL! And was told it was tracked in the system...

I totally agree!

Aren't they the best? Jon at Howell always works with me and the staff is SO helpful and friendly!

Really odd - I was just at the outlets and saw someone buy about 10 of the same style purse. My sister and I were like - what the ####? My brother in law said "they are selling them on *bay..." We couldn't believe it.....that is just not right.

I don't think people should be banned, however, it isn't fair to clean out the store of stock either. There has to be an equitable solution - I'm just not sure what it is.

Yea, I was in San Marcos this weekend and saw a lady buy $2600 worth of stuff and there were SEVERAL duplicate purchases (example: 6 one of one bag!)

If someone is wiping out the stock, that's when I'm glad that there is a 3 item rule. But all outlets don't enforce this rule everywhere. If they did, then perhaps there wouldn't be any need for banning people.

I see this all the time at Vacaville - people with armloads of bags and lots of multiples. I don't think I've ever bought more than 3 of the same thing and everyone is super friendly to me at my outlet which is more than I can say for most boutiques I've been in lately!

Because those who have been banned, play the innocent victim, they scare the bajeesus out of those who are just buying for gifts or themselves. They leave out vital incriminating evidence. I believe the poster who claims they were banned for buying 3 keyfobs forgot to mention the other items they have bought and/or returned in the past. Their letter states "buying history", so I presume they have been watching her for a while. Don't freak out, people. Just buy the way you always do, you should be fine.

The problem with limiting numbers of same bags being sold is that it is NEVER consistent! I know Gymboree has the same policy with clothing--you are never supposed to be able to buy 5 of the same item all at once, but I've been at stores during sales where the SA KNOW the people who sell on Ebay and bring out BAGS and BAGS of clothes they had on hold and there are TONS of the same items in there--like leggings/tights that are HTF and then these people buy all the stock and sell on ebay. So I guess it really matters who you know and if they are willing to bend the rules for you or not. I think it's sad that the outlets would allow someone to buy 8 of the same bag and not question it. Unless the person has a LOT of family members that are ALL looking for the SAME exact bag!! :shrugs:

I agree it probably has to be SA that flags someone but I can't see banning someone for a couple of keyfobs. They are quite a few ladies on here who buy a lot of things at different outlets who seem to have an "in" with some SA's and I am sure they are not just buying for their own collection judging by how often and how much they shop, I guess it is the luck of the draw with the SAs.

Yes I think that is exactly what happened to me.
I had a SA that was soooooo rude to me all the time and I had had enough... so I called the Customer serv. on her and complained!
I got a letter of apolagy.
Well.... it kept happening, she was just soooo evil!!!
2-3 weeks later I call Cust. serv. again.
This time... no letter of apolagy... instead I got "THE LETTER"
I really think it was the SA that flagged me!!

I cannot believe this!!! You were actually told you couldn't come back for six months because you bought 3 of the same KEYFOBS??? That is CRAZY!!! When I go to Coach I always buy my mom and sisters something small, something like a keyfob! So you're telling me that if I bought us all the same keyfob, I'd be banned for six months!!??? That is crazy. And the SAs never said anything to you??? They should be held liable for not disclosing their policy to you. I'd maybe take it a little further, like corporate? You'd think they would be happy people are buying their products w/ all of the economic problems we are having lately! Well, I for one love Coach, but I'd have to say that if this happened to me, I'd stop giving them my money.
No I do not think it was the just the 3 fobs.

I really do believe it was the SA that didn't like me!!
See above post!

I am sorry that you think that I left out vital info!
I shopped at coach no more than 2-3 monthes.... and I did not spend no more than like 1500.00+
I see people posting a lot more than I ever bought!
The SA has a lot to do with it.... and one SA did not like me at all!!

You know, this is sounding more and more like an individual SA or manager is the one to raise the "red flag" on buying patterns here - if they can "make an exception for a regular", it's obviously not an automated system that flags the multiple purchases.
I agree!!
I really think this is what happened to me!

They even told me to call back in 6 monthes... that seems kinda wierd.....

i fell really bad about it for you. why dont you just go in and not give your name next time, my mom bought a gift for my sister and she paid cash and they never asked for her name. idk if they just put mine or not because they knew we were together but still..

Dear Mrs XX XXXXXXXX:
The volume of your purchases along with your habit of buying duplicate items suggests that you are purchasing Coach product for resale. While we appreciate your enthusiasm for the Coach brand and your entrepreneurial spirit, we must advise you that no one is authorized by Coach to resell product purchased from our stores, website or accounts.

As you know, the Coach brand is synonymous with quality and excellence and Coach applies consistently high standards to its products, its consumer services and its distribution channels. To maintain these standards, Coach limits distribution beyond our own stores and our internet site to a select group who are carefully chosen for their capability and willingness to provide the resources to drive the sale of Coach product in an image-enhancing manner.

As the manufacturer of Coach brand products, we are responsible for positioning our brand and supporting the attributes that Coach believes are important to maintaining and developing consumer relationships. We believe that unauthorized distributors and retailers lack commitment to the Coach product, lack the capital investment required and, possibly, lack other criteria that are very important to the Coach brand.

Please be advised; we have notified our stores and distribution center of this matter. They have been advised that you are no longer authorized to purchase our products. I would also like to point out that we will not be able to sell to anyone who we believe is acting on your behalf.

Sincerely,

MJ Finlay

First and foremost - Chris Daughtry Rocks!!! can't wait till he releases another CD..

on Topic, i started a thread about being banned from Brighton. mine was excess returns & exchanges.

i always concern myself with being banned from Coach. (would i slit my wrists.. probably not, i like my life, but that would sadden me to no end, because i love coach so much!!)

i have such a hard time making up my mind on which bag to buy and often do exchanges.. im so obsessed with Coach Leather bags, now the new Optic "C's.. not a fan of the regular Signature bags.. but the new "C"'s are so different.

i hope that this could be straighten out for you. any chance to talk to corporate or the Manager? (sorry didn't read the entire thread) so that may have come up already.
