Being Banned From Coach Stores - Did You Read?

Not true. The last few times I was in my outlet, the SA's didn't ask me. I have bought at the same outlet for almost 3 years and I am in there on a weekly basis. I have noticed that the SA's don't ask for my info like they used to. Your name usually shows up on the receipt if they do this...mine has not. And I have bought multiples many times with no problems.

You can refuse to give the info, but they ALWAYS ask for it.

Well on the other thread she said she bought something like 10 wristlets and 4 totes, so it's not just the keyfobs. Maybe it was a pattern of buying extras.
Ohh..maybe. That's good to know. I also don't think I have to worry because I don't go to outlets often enough anyway. i only get there maybe 2 or 3 times a year if I'm lucky.

Different colors might be okay I think, as they aren't the exact same item.

Nope..if the style # is the same, no matter the color; the limit is 3 and the sa's have to do a seperate transaction.

I have to wonder also how large of a role the SA plays in getting you flagged, since sometimes they are the ones that give the "heads up" to corporate

Here I think you are 100% on target...there's something going on at the stores. I've seen people purchase mega amounts of identical bags and return the same huge amount. I believe there is some knowledge of resale on large scales at some stores.

This just isn't right or fair to penalize some and nod others.

I saw some wristlets at a great discount so I wanted to buy 4 for all my sons teachers but they limited me to 3 - oh well - one teacher will have to get someting else - my SA asked if I had a friend with me who could purchase the other wristlet - too bad I didnt

If the seperate transaction is under the same name, wouldn't it still show in the system the total of the same item purchased? So what's the point of dividing the transactions?

Some collections have the same item in different colors, and some people collect them in all the colors. I have not gotten every color of say, a mini skinny in one line. But say there were 6 and I wanted each one in a different color. Do I really have to do 2 transactions or have a friend get the others for me? I'd be curious to know if people who have gotten various colors of the same item get told that they can't do it. Or if you get the whole color collection at different times, and if you keep doing this, will you will eventually get a letter?

The manager at the outlet came up to me last year because I was trying a bunch of different bags on. She said I better not be selling on Ebay because Coach would look me up on Ebay and take me to court! She actually said this to me! I assured her I was just trying to decide which bags looked best on me and that I was not going to buy them all, nor re-sell any if I bought them!! She didn't let up and continued on with her rant...so rude.

Exactly why I dont mind that these resellers are selling on Ebay. In Australia we dont have access to any of these outlets so the markup is huge. I envy those in the US where there are outlets. I would love to be able to go to these outlets every month or so.

Yes, in Australia the elisa is just coming into stock in the Sydney store and I rang to find out the price, $1490 Australian dollars (.80 Australian dollars approx. to the USD). So even buying from Coach online and adding the exchange rate and shipping it is cheaper than buying it in Australia.

i understand they dont want people returning alot of bags because they lose money, but i dont see why they have to ban you from the store because you decide to make a little extra money. if coach was smart they would start up their own ebay ID and selll overstocks on there for more than outlet price and people would definatly buy from there. i know best buy has something like this and i think kitchenaid does as well i dont see why coach couldnt

I'm not sure of the point at all, truth told. But I know I can only buy 3 of the same (say scarves in different colors, same item #) on one receipt. I can come in the next day and buy three more. If I want 4 of the same, I've had a couple of SA's ask if I want to do a separate transaction, and I'll usually hand them another card or pay cash for a small item.

I haven't got a letter, but i do buy a lot of the same small items, esp. if they go on sale.

I agree it probably has to be SA that flags someone but I can't see banning someone for a couple of keyfobs. They are quite a few ladies on here who buy a lot of things at different outlets who seem to have an "in" with some SA's and I am sure they are not just buying for their own collection judging by how often and how much they shop, I guess it is the luck of the draw with the SAs.

Ok, just to add my two cents... again... when I spoke to the SA today at my outlet I was told, yes only 3 of the same style # at once. So I am extremely happy that they are limiting it at the Howell outlet. It actually gives the people who want the item to get it at the good price, other than letting the people who sell on the bay buy them ALL! And was told it was tracked in the system...
