Bals you want to buy, plan to buy and those you can't quite make up your mind about

There's ALWAYS space for you ksuromax. I'm glad you're here :hugs: You and other TP:ers are hilarious in how you forget about bags you own. Wasn't there someone here or on the main forum who discovered a Chanel in her closet she'd forgotten about? How can that even happen?! But maybe considering the sizes of your collections it's not too surprising.

And yes, I think you are pretty covered by BV blues
Regarding this forgetting bags issue, I want to share my system if you don't mind. I do this thing I call "speed dating" my bags. I have my main bags listed on a Note on my phone. I number them and list them by brand/style/order I bought them (I also break it out in a separate section by colors). As I use each bag, I check it off my list. I might use a bag anywhere from a day to a week. I repeat this cycle when I am done. This way, I will never neglect or forget about a bag. I started doing this about a year ago or so. So I am constantly evaluating my bags (like how much do I like this one?). This may be too rigid/systematic/nerdy for some. But it helps me to decide on the fate of my bags as I strive to downsize.

I am too lazy and, probably, busy to be so well organized :(

My system is easier- if I forget it, it means I don't love it and should probably sell it . For whatever reason though, I've having a hard time parting with certain Bals.

I know it's a little crazy but it's the only "dating" I get to do (lol).

With my minuscule collection it would be pretty embarrassing not to remember any of them  But your system sounds like you have perfected the art of bag rotation Iamminda  I think there are other TPF:ers doing this so you are definitely not alone using this system.

@SomethingGoodCanWork Ok, so got back from Saks a little while ago.
Their selection of Bal bags (at least the city's) was terrible. I could count on both hands how many city's they had out. Every bag was on sale so I think they put away those Bals that didn't meet the sale requirements.
They didn't have Bleu de Minuit, and the Bleu Obscur they did have was from 2015. I tried getting a pic of it but it looks black. The lighting there was terrible. I tried playing with the pic to get the Blue right, but I can't. There's a few on the forum that have it right, and it's a gorgeous Blue.

They also had a gorgeous black out Blue (posting a pic). It's more muted/flat than in the pic with a definite grey undertone. I almost got it but I think I'm gonna wind up getting the Bordeaux one instead (which they didn't have.)

I'm sorry I couldn't help more. But next time I'm at Bal, I'll take a pic of every.single.bag they have :)

Great idea for a thread!

I've always dreamed of finding an '08 Electric Blue Day w GGH. I haven't been able to find one in good condition w minimal fading, but I still hold out hope it does exist. :p

I would love to add a chevre ME City Small/Small City to my collection sometime - maybe gris acier? I'm a sucker for crossbody bags! So that's on my "maybe someday" list.

The more I see the blackout bags, the more I like them! That blue city above is gorgeous!

As for staying organized *nerd alert*, I keep a Google Drive spreadsheet.

A woman after my own heart :) ! I would do a spreadsheet but I am very low tech. I know others who do that with purchase prices and sold prices etc.

@Iamminda
I can't help it. I swear my memory gets worse every year, so I need something to help remind me. :p I have a tab for my current collection and a tab for sold/previously owned items. I also track purchase and sold prices, date acquired or sold, official color names, style names, purchased from, condition, season, etc. I also track SLGs in addition to bags. Having a spreadsheet makes it a lot easier for me to skim things at a glance.

Sorry to veer off topic! As for bags I'm unsure about, it's the bal bazaar totes and the new triangle bags.

Although i liked the small triangle bag (as my DH suggested, to store my bikinis) i am very unsure about getting it, that huge script BALENCIAGA all across the bag is putting me off.
Stripes of Bazaar is not my bottle of beer, really, but the ones in solid, block colour look interesting.... i think, i need to find MY combo of colour (red or blue?) and size (small or medium?)

I couldn't find a clip from the start of the movie The Secret Life of Pets, where one of the Minions is getting all squeey and excited about "Illiumination!" "Iiilluminaaation!!!" but that's my current expression at the prospect of Bal pics from the actual Bal store in NY  "Baaalenciaaaga!!!"
My closest source of high end bags is literally just down a hill, but they "only" have Prada, Chloé and some of the other brands on TPF's Luxury Designers list. No Balenciagas as far as I've seen. This is much appreciated BPC :hugs:

Yes, the Blackout is an interesting take on the City. I thought it looked unfinished at first, but I can see how this is evolving Bal bags while still keeping to the origins.
