When you are considering a certain bag, how important is for you the side costs? I.e. shipping fee, tax (if applicable), potentially return shipping fee...
i find it sometimes a deal breaking or sealing thing, e.g. if i see a bag listed for 400$ and shipping is 70, plus tax.... for me it's 25% extra charge (completely unreasonable!) and 99% deal breaking factor....
if shipping is free, then chances that i will pull the trigger are very high, it feels like i pay for the bag itself, i know that it's already included in the price, but still... weird??....

That's a lovely blue. Do you think it's a good "neutral", and that it works well with many other blues like different shades of denim for ex?

Thank you :)
I actually love this bag because it goes with everything! It's one of those I have difficulties to put back in its dustbag. But you know, I should rotate my bags to keep them beautiful hahaha!
So yes, for me it's a perfect neutral :)

Yes, bag rotation is bag preservation! One of TPF:s most important mantras I've learnt so far

One solution for rotating a favourite bag would be to buy another bag in the same colour. I'm actually already thinking of getting another black City because I love my new to me 2011 that much

Yup, I'm totally on board with this. I love all my black city's, and the various hardware gives me options, options, options.. lol :giggle:

I always consider taxes, shipping etc when looking at bags. Often wringing my hands inwardly at the fact that so many gorgeous Bals in EUC are sold in the US and not in the EU
An yes, I agree, free shipping is a great incitament for buying  even if as you say you are in reality paying for it anyway. But for ex. if you buy something on sale at Farfetch, NAP etc combined with free shipping it does heighten the sense of having made a good deal. It all adds up.

A shipping fee of around 20-25 EUR. is not a problem I think when what you've bought costs a couple of 100 EUR. or more. In that case I will gladly pay return shipping not to get stuck with reselling.

But having said all this, I am at the moment looking at a Caramel 2005 City, being sold in the US. This bag is not returnable but for some bags you might have to make an exception if you just can't find them neither new or old in your part of the world. What I find worst with buying pre-owned is that you don't really know what condition your purchase is going to be in. Really nerve wracking actually.

Hi all, haven't been around in ages! Just popped on to see what I've been missing. Here are a few shots of some blues -- I love comparison shots so I thought I'd throw these into the ring - clockwise from top left (first pic): 05 Indigo, '15 bleu obscur mgsh, 09 officier clutch, 04 dark turquoise (all have been sold save for the clutch). Lighting isn't fabulous... the bleu obscur doesn't have any green in it as it appears in some of these and for me was an absolutely fantastic wear-with-anything navy that I loved with the silver hardware. @muchstuff I will always and forever lust after your marine courier and day  Hope ya'll are well!IMG_7511.JPG IMG_7512.JPG IMG_7513.JPG

I always consider those costs in buying a bag. Money out of my pocket is money out of my pocket, regardless of what it's for. Unfortunately, most retailers have physical locations in California, so I have to account for sales tax. Even secondhand, I'll consider yoogi's over fashionphile, just to save on sales tax. It adds up.

Good to know i am not alone!
It makes not much sence to me to pay so much 'unrefundable' money in case if it does work :(
