bags that DON'T work for you

Bags that don't work for me include:

Shoulder-carry bags (think hobos, totes)
Bags with obvious logos (think LV monogram, big Gs on Gucci bags, big Cs on Chanel, etc.)
Non-leather bags (like whatever the neverfulls are made of that have logos all over)
Saffiano leather bags (just no!)

Well that's the short list. I am a girl that loves arm-carry bags and bags with crossbody straps :smile1:

Hmmm, bags that don't work for me. I'll give it a go:

~heavy bags (I don't like pain!)
~cutesy bags (I'm way too old and even when younger didn't care for them)
~tiny bags (why bother, they're just frustrating)
~white bags (send me screaming)
~thin strapped bags
~open bags
~brightly colored bags
~hard to access bags
~monogrammed bags
~stiff bags (I like slouch)

Neverfull MM - didn't feel safe with the opening and didn't particularly like the shape/size of the MM. It felt like a big open beach tote on me.

Balenciaga city - didn't fit my style, a little too grungy looking....couldn't get it out of my mind that it looked like a shiny garbage bag. Although I do like the mini metalic edge city.

Falabella three chain bag - too heavy and too many chains. I would definitely get the 2 chain instead.

Also I don't like crossbody bags - I think it looks childish on me.

Brands:
Coach, Michael Kors, Rebecca Minkoff, Massaccesi, Chanel, Hermes, Alexander Wang, Kate Spade, Burberry, Tory Burch, MCM, Longchamp, Gucci, Judith Leiber, Moschino, Juicy Couture, Bottega Veneta.

I love BV leather (soooo buttery soft), but their designs are too plain for my taste. I do like Hermes Garden Party totes and their Kelly Pochette, but I'll never buy them. And I use to like RM, but her terrible customer service and poor bag quality left a sour taste in my mouth. So I stopped buying her bags.

1. i think the hobo style? the rounded type top with a single shoulder strap (sometimes double strap). i cannot get into those bags easily at all b/c of the rounded moon zipper top. i feel like i have to take it all the way off to unzip it and then dig around for my stuff. i like to just be able to reach my hand right in, so something sitting under my arm like that is weird to me. but they are soooo nice.

2. a handheld only bag. i need at least two ways to carry something.

Anything covered in a monogram print, bags without a shoulder or crossbody strap, anything light or bright colored, anything that can't stand on its own or doesn't hold its shape. Also faux leather is a big "no" for me...

I have found that the following styles are just not flattering on me:
1) Totes.
2) Bucket bags.
3) Minaudieres/undersized bags (I feel they always make me look giant)

I cannot functionally handle:
1) A bag with a non-crossbody shoulder strap. I always keep shrugging it back onto my shoulder.
2) A bag with no interior pocket. I like putting my keys and small items in inside pockets.
3) Bags that are too slim to accommodate a phone and wallet.

I was sadly disappointed in:
1) The Heroine bag by Alexander McQueen. It's a pain to get in and out of, and I would worry the design would eventually crease the leather.
