Bag borrow or steal?

I have wondered this too and received the same line from a BBOS rep. I can't justify borrowing a bag I won't own because that's just money down the drain, but part of me still wants to borrow a MC tote to see if they give me the option to steal it. I have a feeling that I would wind up paying above retail though in total since they have to make $$ somewhere. It would be really sad if they didn't even offer me that option! I hope someone who has "stole" from them before will see this thread and lend some advise.

yes i hope so too! i guess im not the only one who is wondering...at first i thought this was soo silly to even make a thread but now i realize we are lall in the same boat!

I have not purchased or borrowed anything...however I know others who have. One lady returned a "steal" as the condition was not good. So at least they take returns.
FYI the warehouse distributor is local to me and I have the privilage of being able to take my bags to the place that cleans and rehabs bags for Bag Borrow or Steal. Wow! That scares me! I would hate to steal a bag that had been unknowingly worked on by someone other than Chanel :wtf:.

Gerry, the website is called Bag Borrow or Steal bc when you borrow a bag, you could also decide to "steal it" or keep it if you pay the price they quote you.. this is different from the outlet section where you just buy the bag.

Yes, but i partly understand Bag Borrow or Steal because if there's a discontinued bag you really want, and it's there, I'd steal it. But it freaks me out that they won't tell you the "steal" price before you borrow the bag. I mean, what if it turns out to be like millions of dollars or something?

hi ladies~

i was able to find this in the main chanel forum.. one of the pfers just borrowed 2 bags from BBOS and was able to get quoted steal prices. here is what she said:

"OK. I received quotes about these bags the day after they were delivered. I had previously called to see how much the steal would be, & they told me that that is revealed only after you borrow it. You go into the website & click "My Closet", then to "bags I'm enjoying", & it has pics of the bags you borrowed. You click the steal button, & the price of the steal is revealed. Let me tell you, it's not much of a steal.

Ice Cube flap - $1,980 for steal :nuts:. Retail price - $1,650. I could tell this bag had been used some.
Prada Rose bag - $1,550 for steal :wtf:. Retail - $1,150. This bag looks brand new.

"Thanks to everyone! Your comments are so sweet! :blushing:"

so it looks like the steal prices might be higher than retail!
