Authenticate This Luella

[Mad about Bags]

I'd like to see the actual pic of the origin tag, but bags of that generation were made in Turkey.

As far as the price you should pay, only you can determine that. If it's a bag you love and you can afford it, then by all means bid it up to what you are comfortable with. These bags originally retailed for $800-1000 USD when they first came out but they have significantly dropped in resale prices.

origin tag about 4 hours before auction ended. The tag says made in turkey, but I missed out because the price was over my budget! Never mind I jusst have to keep looking , I am sure I will get my dream bag eventually.

Like I mentioned in the previous post, you need to see a pic of the origin tag, which is located inside the interior zippered pocket. Personally I think the price is a bit high on this bag since it's the small one.

margault - Hi there - there is a thread somewhere for Luella - but I just spotted this on the Home Page! Anyway - this one - is it possible to have further photos - I'd like to see the 'Luella' on the leather attachments. Also - any tag and dustbag would be useful. Also the zipper pull, which should have a Luella motif on it. It looks like the Anouk style (from memory) but the leather appears quite shiny specifically in the photo of the front and the back of the bag. For me - its rather difficult to be definitive right now on this bag - I'd prefer to see these areas. I'm not a Luella expert - I do have a couple - I'll just check for the link to the best area for you to post this in - so the other girls can check.

I'm just about to bid on Luella Baby Giselle bag but I've no idea, how to check for authenticity. The seller says that I can post to check her bag for authenticity here. Yes, bags of this generation were made in Turkey. The tag should be inside the interior zippered pocket.

Be careful, though, because the seller claims they bought it originally on eBay. They may know it's fake already.
