Authenticate This Luella

I'm not sure about this style, but I do know these bags (when they first appeared in the US at least) were made in Turkey. Please ask the seller for a picture of the origin tag. It should be inside the interior zippered pocket. They are hard to find -- the seller will probably have to turn the entire pocket inside out. If it's made in Turkey, it's real.

Hi lorihmatthews, the seller has sent me this photo. Do you still think it is a real Luella?

Thanks

anyone else would like to voice an opinion? thanks

In my opinion this is a FAKE.
I've recently bought a Baby Gisele (the medium size) from www.luella.com, so it is authentic for sure! And first of all the label inside says: Made in Spain, the "made in turkey" thing doesn't prove anything now.
The main difference is the hardware...the one on my bag has a "rounded" shape, this one is squared...and then mine is shyny, different from this in the link...
Mine has little metal feet underneath (but this could be a Baby's characteristic...I don't know...).
The global appearance: Luella bags look "solid", the leather is thick. This one looks thinner than mine.
If you can wait the end of season, during sales on luella website you can have them 50%off.
I wouldn't buy this one.

I meant "shiny", of course! and still talking about the hardware...the central buckle in which you fix the straps has the name "Luella" printed on it.

fake fake fake

I think I may retract my earlier opinion. After I looked closely again at the picture the seller sent, the "made in Turkey" patch is not where it was on authentic bags. It should have been inside the zippered pocket, not sewn into the interior lining of the bag. I agree with _so_what on this one.

Hi there,
I bought this Luella, believing the very honest-sounding promises of the seller as to its authenticity. However, as soon as I opened the parcel, I was really disappointed. It just doesn't look like something you would paid £400 for! ( I paid £150). Or maybe I expected too much? It's quite small (not a shoulder bag); the lining is beige canvas and an inside label says 'made in Turkey'...Here are some pics. Any comments are very welcome!

I can't tell unless I see the origin tag. Could you ask the seller for a pic?
Hello Lori,
I will ask but it might be too late. She told me the bag is made in TURKEY. I will post the picture of the origin tag if she send it to me. Thank you so much for replying to my post. How much should I be paying for a bag like that? The last time I bought a bag on Ebay I ended up paying too much for what it 's worth. I am from AUSTRALIA and they don't sell Luella, MJ or Mullbery in department stores .... so I have know idea how much to bid. Thank you once again. Your help is much appreciated.:flowers:
I will ask the seller for origin tag :s:sweatdrop:

Hi there,
can anyone tell me whether this clutch is genuine Luella? I know they made them in silver but this one is pink. Leather feels rough and thick. The little padlock has Luella written on it. Inside feels like suede. Leather label says Made in Spain.

Thanks!

I'd like to see the actual pic of the origin tag, but bags of that generation were made in Turkey.

As far as the price you should pay, only you can determine that. If it's a bag you love and you can afford it, then by all means bid it up to what you are comfortable with. These bags originally retailed for $800-1000 USD when they first came out but they have significantly dropped in resale prices.
