Could you authenticate this necklace? It is stamped 750, 925 and someone asked if it is a David Yurman? It cost very little and I can handle the truth.:smile1: There are no other markings, just curious.

Hello! could you authenticate these tiffany earrings for me? He has a high seller/buyer feedback...but all of his transactions are computer/cellphone/car related. Thank you!

title: Tiffany & Co - Return to Tiffany 925 Sterling Silver - Heart Tag Earrings *RARE*
item: 221166325638
seller: azcomps
listing:http://www.ebay.com/itm/221166325638?_trksid=p5197.c0.m619

The pictures are not the best. It would be helpful to see the front and back close up. I don't like the placement of the markings but there is reflection in the photo and its hard to say for certain either way based on the two pictures in the listing.

I got a few more pictures from him- although they're not very clear. Hopefully they help. Also, the earrings came back from cleaning from tiffany's, is it normal to have those black specks on the back? Thank you!

The photo still isn’t clear but it does show the markings on the front in a different light and angle and although the picture isn’t clear, the placement of the markings are in the right place and the spacing looks correct. I still hesitate to say for certain without seeing it clearly but I don’t see anything that stands out with the new pictures. Black area’s can be normal. If the item is dented and has dings, tarnish can settle into the spaces, making it look more pronounced, giving the dark black appearance. Its unusual for the backs of earrings to be dented since its normally an area that isn’t exposed to wear and doesn’t ‘hit’ up against things like bracelets and rings do.

If you decide to bid, you could always post your own pictures here. Since logo pieces are so widely faked, I hesitate to say either way without seeing the front in a clear, close up picture.

Hi sadie, I was hoping to get your opinion about an eBay seller here in the UK. Their store link is http://stores.ebay.co.uk/diamondsareforeverltd

Basically, they are selling loads of Tiffany items 'with paperwork', but at discounted prices and as-new (without tags). The photos look okay to me, but the whole story makes me feel really uneasy.

They do sometimes have some older pieces that aren't in store anymore, so I'd like to know if they're generally reliable to keep my eye on for good deals, or whether the deal is as fishy as it sounds! Thank you so much for any advice you can give.

I saw your post and thought I'd just give you my opinion on this one. Everything I've seen from the seller seems authentic. I doubt the items are actually "new", what I assume they do is buy second hand and send the items to Tiffany for cleaning, which is what I assume makes up some of the paperwork (cleaning receipts). I could be wrong, but it's what their listings suggest eg. "This has been serviced, polished and as NEW".

If the pieces they buy are going to Tiffany for cleaning it's a good way of authenticating, Tiffany don't clean replicas. I personally find the prices of their jewellery a bit too much, but I guess it's the price you pay for having the piece you receive polished and essentially authenticated.

Its hard to say where they may have acquired all of the Tiifany they have for sale. They could be a reseller. They may buy from online classified ads, local estates or bid on low ending auctions (resellers always do this under a different user id, almost always a private id- some Tiffany resellers on the US eBay site have 4 to 6 different private user names. This way the items they buy and the price they paid are not searchable, not easily at least- for potential buyers to see.) The seller you are asking about fit’s the profile for a reseller- they use fixed prices (they have to do this since they must recoup at minimum what they originally paid, fee’s and then profit), and they seem to list many items and have a great reputation.

I haven’t looked through all of their listings but the ones I have seen have been authentic. They seem like a reputable place to buy from. I am not sure what they mean by saying ‘with papers‘. The only paper you get with a purchase is your receipt, unless you buy a diamond.
