Please help, I purchased this watch online last week for one of my children, I have purchased 3 gucci watches in my life all from authorised dealers, the seller seems to be trustworthy on the surface but something just niggles me because there is no serial number on the back and the other watches I purchased do. The seller assures me this is normal as not all gucci watches have a serial number on the back, but as I recently bought a similar watch from the same range ( diff strap) it just seems strange. I have 2 teenage sons. The son for whom this watch is for has disabilities and I would feel awful if this was not genuine gucci when I know the other one is for certain.

I've never seen a Gucci watch without a serial number on the back (I've been buying Gucci watches since the mid-1970s.

What worries me more is his feedback. Truly terrible - and he gets REALLY nasty if someone gives him a negative or a neutral. Have you already paid? I think I'd skip it personally. I actually recently had something similar - gucci watch without a serial number. I passed. Gucci watches are heavily faked and some of the fakes look pretty good.

But look at his feedback! That would decide it for me right there. Always go to Toolhaus.org to look at feedback before bidding. Ebay deliberately tries to hide negatives by not giving you more than a few months' worth.

I wear a Gucci timeless watch for everyday use which I bought from a well-known jeweller here in the UK and mine has a serial number on the back. I don't know much about Gucci watches generally but I imagine that as with other high-end brands all their watches should have serial numbers on the back.

I find it strange that this seller does not supply boxes or paperwork with the watches given that they are supposedly new. He seems fishy to me - I would try and get a refund if possible.

I have to agree with everyone here.

Most high-end watches, like Gucci and other similar brands, come with a serial number engraved and matching paperwork. I find it suspicious that this seller is selling watches without serial numbers and doesn't provide paperwork or packaging to his clients.

As mentioned by others, he also attacks buyers who leave neutral or negative feedback. Not a nice person to deal with...

The good news is that PayPal protects its buyers against fake and replica designer items. File a claim with PayPal to let them know that the watch you received is not authentic and they will issue a refund.

It is likely that if they were authentic he would provide the proper packaging and would have good feedback. I hope you are asking this prior to purchase, but otherwise file with PayPal and use it as a lesson to check things out before buying in the future. Good luck and I hope you either haven't purchased the item or are able to get a refund.
