Taupe was a valid color in 1995, and the bag is genuine. The actual shade is quite a bit darker than what's shown in the seller's photos though.

The tag says that the color is Graphite but the color looks way off in the pictures. Maybe there's some weird lighting effect going on in the pics. I would verify with the seller that the color of the bag is, in fact, a gray color and not brown as it appears in the photos.
