I'm not sure about the "condition" of suede on the bag but I DO believe it's authentic. I am NO expert in anything newer and that bag is from 2008.

I might take a chance. There was an "Archive Collection" and that style is a homage to Bonnie Cashin (even though it's made in China).

:smile1:

I'd say genuine too. Here's Coach's photo:

katev wow I wish I lived near where you do to find all those vintage bags!! I have checked every thrift store in our area and all they sell is plastic junk :(
The only place I have ever seen a coach bag was in value village and it was in the glass case for $100 and it was the siggy pattern and in rough dirty shape

Thank you but it is almost too much of a good thing! I keep finding great vintage bags and buying them and I have way too many! I have a pile of "projects" just waiting for rehabilitation. I definitely have to stop buying them and I think I am going to have to start giving some away or selling them or something!

Comments: Cute little bag, the color is gorgeous; I hope it’s real! If you know the name and style number I'd appreciate the info. Thank you!

Pocket Purse from around 1991 or 92, give or take a year or two either way. The color looks like Forest Green.

Comments: I picked this bag up at a local consignment store. It is made of thick, soft leather but I immediately felt some reservations because the grommets on the buckle strap are silver-tone and the bag’s hardware is brass-colored; but it could have been a replacement strap or perhaps the plating has worn off? After I got it home I learned that the style number is for a Willis bag but this it is not a Willis style; one of the inside seams also looks funny to me.

The store owner insisted it was genuine and promised to give me a full refund if I find out it is a fake. I’d appreciate if you would confirm or deny my suspicions before I take it back and discover whether she was telling the truth! Thanks!

That's not authentic. The creed is the dead giveaway. You won't find an authentic Coach with a "W" as the month code AND the wrong style number.

Sorry - but do wait for other opinions!

I agree with DemRam, sorry.

It may be a trick of the lighting but it almost looks like "characteristic" is misspelled too.

Comments: I have no experience with Coach wool or lamb nappa bags but this seems well-made to me. Please authenticate and tell me anything you know about the bag, thank you!

There's no exact name in my files for that one but it's one of the Girlie Hobos from 2001. Coach made several dozen different styles in every pattern and variety of fabric and leather they could find. Prices in 2001 were between 178 and 198 dollars.

I found two vintage bags today, one from the local Peddlers Mall, and the other at one of the local Goodwills! I have been envying fellow tpfers in finding them lately, so I went on a hunt today! I was hoping to get this authenticated!

And here is the other one. I found this one at the Goodwill! This one needs some work and I am hoping some tpfers can give me some advice!

Thanks for the help!!! :))

If you could post measurements for the first bag it would help to identify it but it's definitely genuine. The second one was called a Multi Zip Bag and was made in 1995.

There are quite a few threads in the main Coach forum about Coach baths and "Rescue and Rehab". Check those for suggestions on how to wash and condition your finds.

Awesome thanks so much!
