Dimensions: 8” high, 10” wide, and 3.25” deep

Comments: I picked this bag up at a local consignment store. It is made of thick, soft leather but I immediately felt some reservations because the grommets on the buckle strap are silver-tone and the bag’s hardware is brass-colored; but it could have been a replacement strap or perhaps the plating has worn off? After I got it home I learned that the style number is for a Willis bag but this it is not a Willis style; one of the inside seams also looks funny to me.

The store owner insisted it was genuine and promised to give me a full refund if I find out it is a fake. I’d appreciate if you would confirm or deny my suspicions before I take it back and discover whether she was telling the truth! Thanks!

That's not authentic. The creed is the dead giveaway. You won't find an authentic Coach with a "W" as the month code AND the wrong style number.

Thanks, that's what I figured. I had some doubts so I shouldn't have bought it but the owner kept insisting that she was sure it was real. Well, I'll have a chance to find out if she keeps her promises if she let's me return it!

And also whether she's honorable enough to return it to the consignee since the sale of fakes is illegal.

If she puts it back on the selling floor after you leave, that will speak volumes about her integrity (or lack thereof).

I have not done lot of eBay shopping, after reading through how many fakes
look really good.

Please request clear closeup (macro setting) pictures of the front horse and carriage plaque, the creed, the 3 hangtags, the hardware on the straps and on the front of the bag.

Looks fine. It's a limited edition so it has a different hangtag.

There's no exact name in my files for that one but it's one of the Girlie Hobos from 2001. Coach made several dozen different styles in every pattern and variety of fabric and leather they could find. Prices in 2001 were between 178 and 198 dollars.

I'm having trouble finding one with those measurements. Are there any other pockets besides the zipped inside pocket, maybe under the flap or on the back?

Sorry, I still can;t find anything with those measurements. All the similar shape bags seem to be either in the 9x6 inch or 11x8 inch range. The only thing in an 8x8 inch range is the Companion Flap and that didn't come out until about 10 years after your bag.

I'll keep looking though. Maybe DemRam might be able to identify it.

OK....total blonde moment....boyfriend corrected me (haha), it is 11x8! I'm pretty sure he told me that when he measured it and I just typed it wrong, since an 8x8 would be a square and its clearly not (Haha)! Sorry!
