Comments:
I've been asked about the authenticity of this item. Seller's pictures (the clearer ones) are scanned images and I'm not sure whether that's the reason why the stitching looks funky or if the hangtag is fake. The stitching on the back of the hangtag is really sloppy.

I don't feel comfortable reporting it until it's confirmed.

Opinions? TIA.

I don't know for sure, but I compared it to the hangtags I have. I have one the same size from 2005 and the stitches are smaller, the edges of the tag are less rounded, on the end with the hole, mine is triangular, while that one curves in. All in all, mine is so much nicer. I just noticed that a hangtag I have from 2010 does curve in like that. I think the giveaway is the number of stitches per inch. That one has 8 stitches across the long side and mine has 12. None of my 20 or so hangtags have stitches that big. Also, I don't like the way the stitches go around the corner, sort of rounded rather than square. The stitches don't seem very straight.

You're welcome.

Thank you for comparing.

I also compared and as has been proven time and again, the most consistent thing about Coach is its inconsistency.

I have different hangtags in different shapes and with different stitch counts.

It should be interesting to read other opinions. One thing I can say is that the more I look at the picture of the back of that hangtag, the sloppier the stitching looks and the more uneven the edges are.

I've never seen one that looks like that either. The entire hangtag including the outer edges is just a mess, it's not even cut straight. And the stitches are really bad. Reporting it sounds like a good idea.

Thanks Hyacinth. You know how I am super cautious about reporting an item that I'm not absolutely positive is fake.

I needed that confirmation on this one.

I believe its a Coach Legacy bag.

Good evening ladies. I have another bag I need authenticated. It looked alright but I noticed something in the photo that looks off to me but I am not as experienced as the ladies here. Its a legacy bag and since I don't own any of these, I don't know if this is right. But none of my coach bags have black made in china tags on the interior side seams and this one does. Also the stitching on the creed patch looks crooked lol. So is it real or fake? Thanks in advance!

Not a problem, the stitching on Coaches isn't always arrow-straight, no matter what you might have heard. And Coach does use a small black "Made in..." tag especially when there's no country stated on the creed. Most of the recent bags and accessories have that tag.

Other opinions would help.

Thanks Hyacinth. I did just go through every bag I own and only the one I bought at the store two weeks ago had that tag. Its the studded leather duffel. I wasn't sure if it was something on new bags or what. While I was waiting for a response, I researched several of these bags and they all had that little black tag and the stitching was a little off on all of their creed patches too lol. I just want to make super sure its authentic before I buy it from her because of the price. I thank you and I will wait to see what else others think too, before I put out that kind of money. :)

All are fake.

Someone asked about this bag in the Spring 2011 thread, and the concensus was that it was fake because of discrepancies in the color and serial number, among other things:

If it is fake, some poor schmuck just paid over $400 for it. Can our experts on the recent styles take a look and also check out the other items from MAYFAIR2011

I don't know the bag well enough to confirm or un-confirm authenticity but I don't see anything that screams fake to me.

JMHO.
