If it is fake, some poor schmuck just paid over $400 for it. Can our experts on the recent styles take a look and also check out the other items from MAYFAIR2011

I don't know the bag well enough to confirm or un-confirm authenticity but I don't see anything that screams fake to me.

JMHO.
On further research, I do question the integrity of mayfair2011.

In several of her listings, there are (what appears to be) watermarks, either shown or redacted that indicate that the pictures belong to someone else.

For example, here are some:

The name of a website is hidden: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...6&si=wKkqLEBC63meu1lo2EBvrQOJudI%3D&viewitem=

Pictures appear to be taken from someone else's advertisement and the last picture shows a watermark that was cropped off:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...3&si=wKkqLEBC63meu1lo2EBvrQOJudI%3D&viewitem=
as does this one too:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...9&si=wKkqLEBC63meu1lo2EBvrQOJudI%3D&viewitem=

This listing shows a huge red flag and is undoubtedly fake:

On this listing, the creed looks wrong. There is a huge space between the No and the first letter, and the all the first five digits seem too far apart. I have a Sophia, but not a gathered leather one, and my creed doesn't look like that.

Hello Everyone, I hope I have the right location to post this.

I am a new member here. I am meticulous about my listings as a seller and have two handbags that I will not list until someone can authenticate them for me.

I inherited these from my sister-in-law who made great money, and was also a shopaholic. The two coach bags were in her home, unused, as were tons of other things, purchased and never used.

Anyway, I have done my best to try to identify them, and because they are from 10 years ago, I suspect it will be difficult to come up with any info on them.

Both bags have the same type design, Patchwork leather and oversized.
The tag hanging from one is dated 2001. I am assuming they were purchased from the same collection.

Bag#2 has no vendor tags, but appears to be of the same pattern as the other, just a different style, and larger than the first bag. It is marked as 191308.

So Sorry...but those are both COUNTERFEIT bags. They cannot be sold anywhere.

I just purchased a vintage coach at an antique store. It is a navy blue Bleeker B9C-9305.
I was wondering if anyone could tell me what year it was made?

I would like to condition the leather, so any help that way would be great. Thanks.

If it's genuine - and there's no way we can confirm that without photos - it was made in 1999.

If you use the forum's Search feature to search the main Coach forum for "conditioning Coach leather" you'll find probably hundreds of posts on the subject. The 2 most recommended products are Lexol Leather Conditioner and Apple Conditioner.

Aw, that's too bad...Can you tell me how you know? I am not a handbag seller and it would be helpful to know what says it isn't real. She had no reason to buy fake bags she made over $200,000 a year. But I guess anyone can be "taken".

Thanks~

Because we know Coach bags and there's no way Coach ever made anything that looked like that. I'm going to be polite and say that those are probably 2 of the worst fakes I've ever seen. From the style to the fabrics to the tags to the date they were supposedly made to the wrapped handles to the fake linings with misshaped Cs to the fake serial numbers to the fake hardware to the fake leather to the horribly bad craftsmanship and stitching, there is nothing that's right about those bags. If she was "taken" then she'd never really looked at a genuine Coach because there's no way anyone who'd ever owned a real Coach would buy those believing they were genuine. Sorry to be so blunt but I believe in telling it like it is. And I'm sorry she passed those on to someone else. They can't be sold, traded or involved in any kind of transaction including disclosing that they're fake and selling them at a garage sale.

Just because someone has money doesn't mean they have taste - Paris Hilton being the perfect example - she carries fakes too.

If there are any other name-brand purses she left, please have them authenticated before listing them.

No these were the only two left. She passed away 6 years ago. I appreciate the opinions. I don't sell many handbags, so I count on those in the know to help ME to maintain my integrity as a seller. That was the whole point of coming to these forums. For that I thank you.

But at the same time, we should never assume that these were purchased as an attempt to play up a vanity point because they weren't. This lady was a consumate professional and then also a lonely hermit. She shopped on line alot...bought so much stuff I had 5 foot stacks of brand new clothing to climb over to get in a room. And all rooms were the same. She attended many home parties, and had tons of home decor, never even taken out of the box. We have no way of knowing where they came from originally, but I am very glad I didn't list them for someone else to come across.

I only ask that when members ask for these services, because they respect your opinions, that you be a little more sensitive in your responses. This would be for anyone who acts as a consultant. We can all learn a little here, without feeling ashamed or embarrassed.

Thanks again for your help.
