THANKS!

That style was one of the most widely-faked Coaches in history, and it seems that you've found another one.

I'm comparing yours to a genuine one a year newer but I'm seeing some small but important differences. There are also more problems with the creed than just the spacing. Do NOT buy that bag. In fact I can promise that at least 99 out of a hundred examples of that style you'll find for sale will be fake.

THANK YOU SO MUCH HYACINTH AND BEEN BURNED :) I'M A BIT SAD CAUSE THE OTHER BAG (NOT LEATHER) IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE :(((

But it's alright I would rather have it authenticated first than to buy on impulse and get a fake one :)
You're welcome.

You did the right thing in authenticating first. Few bags are so rare that you won't be able to find another. It's easier to avoid a possible fake before bidding than it is to buy, receive a fake and have to file a dispute.
I was told this was purchased at a Coach store in Las Vegas. It seems that the leather stripe on the front is a bit askew and has me nervous.

Please let me know if you need further photographs or other information and I'll do what I can!

Thanks in advance!

Bad fake and your seller is lying to you.

Where did you see this bag listed? If it's online, please post a link to the listing.

It looks to be authentic.

Hi, I just purchased this purse for $150 from a seller who said she had it for one year and that she paid $300 for it. This is my very first Coach bag and I know next to nothing about them, other than basic instructions on how to recognize fakes!

Item Name: I believe it is a Sabrina Op Art bag in black.
Link: This is the original seller's link including her photos:

The C's are symmetrical, the leather Coach tag is "pressed," there is a serial number (F0868-12947), etc. I am concerned only because the zippers do not have "YKK" anywhere on them, because the stitching is dark gray (and all the pictures of this purse I have seen have white stitching) and because the handles are "pleathery", although that seems to be standard for this purse.

Thanks for your help!

The leather strip IS askew and you should be nervous - I hope you haven't actually bought it yet.

In addition to the wonky leather strip the fabric pattern isn't quite right, a Coach bag made of C-pattern or Logo fabric should never have a C pattern lining, and real Coach Swingpacks never have the Coach name woven into the strap fabric.

Your seller is a bald-faced liar - that bag was NOT made by Coach and your seller probably knows it.

Also please read post 1 on page 1 of this thread for the format we need to do a proper authentication. Knowing who the seller is can protect other people from being cheated and can help us report any other fakes.

Thanks so much for the prompt reply!!

As far as the format, I did read how to format the post but this is a local seller and the bag is not posted online anywhere for sale at all which is why I had no links to share. I personally took the photographs myself to post here on the forum. The purse was brought in to a consignment shop and I was questioning it's authenticity. Thanks again for validating my concerns with this bag!

You're welcome.

If the seller is local, you can just mention that in your post. It's a very good thing that you checked before starting a transaction with the seller. Unfortunately a lot of fakes are "laundered" through thrifts, resale and consignment shops since most shop employees aren't trained in recognising fakes or don't know where to ask for advice. And unfortunately a too-large number of shop managers especially for large organisations like Goodwill and the Salvation Army not only don't seem to care that selling counterfeit items is illegal, but seem to think because their organization is registered as Non-profit, that means they're actually exempt from the law. There are dozens of stories scattered all over these forums of obvious fakes being sold for over $100 and genuine bags going for 5 or 10 dollars to sharp-eyed buyers.

Buying from any sort of resale shop, estate sale, or even garage or boot sale can be a minefield if someone isn't familiar with what makes something genuine. Of course, sometimes you can get an amazing bargain or two - it's a matter of luck and experience.

Can someone please authenticate this Coach bag on eBay? Unfortunately, the auction ends in about 3 hours. But thanks for any help you can provide!

I think it looks good. Other opinions are welcome.

Item: 1 Pink Coach Hang Tag
Link location: Listia
Link: http://www.listia.com/auction/1769279
Seller ID: Freebie_Queen

Comments:
I've been asked about the authenticity of this item. Seller's pictures (the clearer ones) are scanned images and I'm not sure whether that's the reason why the stitching looks funky or if the hangtag is fake. The stitching on the back of the hangtag is really sloppy.

I don't feel comfortable reporting it until it's confirmed.

Opinions? TIA.
