May I please have assistance authenticating these two bags? Thank you in advance!

Item: Mahogany Brown Coach Rambler
Seller and site where listed: daisystreetstudio, Depop
Link:
Comments: Suspicious creed numbers. Looks more like a J than a U And the last 4 digits don't match the rambler style?

The bag on Depop is fake. The Manor is fine.
Ugh! For some reason, I wasn't seeing several days' worth of posts so I've been absent.

Regarding the fake on Depop, the seller, daisystreetstudio has many fakes! I'd avoid!

I purchased this 9138 from Poshmark. I’m pretty sure it’s authentic, but I’ve never bought a vintage Coach bag before. The listing had been pretty vague, but everything looked right. They didn’t have the style number when showing the creed in the images.

Length 9"
Height 5"
Width/Depth 2.5"

Hi all! Hope I'm doing this right! Bit of a long post -

I found this (what I thought?) vintage Coach bag in NYC in a thrift store about 5 years ago. I saw the Coach stamp and thought, cool! And didn't look too into it. It was probably $30 or less.

I've gotten into the history of the brand recently, and wanted to dig into this purse and another that I have. The other is clearly authentic. I have concerns about this one. It did not come with a hangtag, so that might have been an indicator, however those things do come off over the years!

I believe it is the Casey bag (#9923), but two things stand out as false to me. It's very hard to read, but it does say,

THIS IS A COACH BAG. IT IS MADE OUT OF A COMPLETELY NATURAL GLOVE TANNED COWHIDE. THE SCARS, SCRATCHES, VEINS AND WRINKLES ARE NATURAL CHARACTERISTICS OF FULL GRAIN LEATHERS.

MADE IN THE UNITED STATES

Which is genuine, however that's usually what the 80s bags said, and this should be from the 90s. The first thing that makes me think it's not authentic is the numbers read 4C5 9923. Shouldn't it be letter#letter? Additionally, the o in NO looks a little bigger than it should be! Maybe it was a stamp error? It's very faded, from age or not being stamped hard enough, I don't know. The bag is in decent shape, but it's definitely been well used, especially in the years I've had it!

The other thing, much bigger indicator, is the clasp says duck. I have not seen this before. Most clasps look like they have USA pat. number and then the word Tawanny.

So, authentic bag with oddities or a fake? It's definitely leather of high quality and the stitching is well done! I just can't image a fake would have the creed wording correct, but then the wrong number? Usually fakes are determined by the spelling/spacing, it seems? With numbers for other bags, or the wrong formula? The bag also does have the extended zipper that the Casey bag is supposed to have, but I guess it doesn't matter how many legitimate things it has if it has any illegitimate things!

It's a nice bag regardless of it's authenticity, but it would be nice to say I found a real Coach at a thrift store all these years later!

I just looked at more pictures to compare, and it looks like the flap should be leather on the inside, so I am leaning towards inauthentic but would like some confirmation! Thanks!

You've received some very confusing and just plain BAD information from sites you've probably found on the internet and to take each point would take a lot of time and you'd still have more bad information in your files or notes. Before we go any further I'm going to ask that you read the entire thread here titled "Salearea Guides" so you at least know where to find ACCURATE information especially about details like creeds and serial numbers.

If you really want to learn FACTS about Coach details, that is where you start. Once you've read it carefully at least once, take another look at the bags you're asking about and I'll answer your questions. I wrote those Guides to answer some common misconceptions about Coaches so please make use of them. NEVER depend on anonymous and seriously outdated or just plain wrong internet posts or "authenticity guides", that two-word term just by itself should be a major red flag.

And BTW, we need MUCH clearer photos of the creeds and serial numbers you posted, that's the most important detail. I can't read either one of them but at least one of them is certainly fake.

Hi! I purchased a Scout Hobo from kenu-7579 on ebay. I am attaching photos. Do you agree with me that it's authentic?
1) the creed patch lettering is small and hard to read, and there is no serial number (though there is a style tag that indicates a 2014 production date so the missing serial number is consistent with the timing). However, the tag that says made in Phillipines is black with white lettering.
2) Hardware is sort of . . . fading? It was gold but is becoming silver; and
3) the strap hardware (attached to both the bag leather and to the strap leather) has teeny tiny lettering that says coach but the leather component has no indication it's a coach
4) the leather hang tag is attached by a strip of leather rather than a chain (this seems consistent with scout hobos)

Here is a link to the original listing, which may not open (it opens for me on a mobile device). https://www.ebay.com/itm/1263968406...DXol8yIQMe&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Hello there Authenticators, happy FriYAY! I got this leather portfolio/laptop sleeve from eBay and really appreciate its thick, supple leather and workmanship. This is clearly from that era of Coach when (some of) their products were made in China. I’m curious to know what this portfolio style was called. Dimensions are roughly 16” x 11.5” x 1”. I like the flap with the big scallop detail. Based on the creed, I’m guessing this was offered in 2003 (??). I’d be very grateful for any info (style name) and even a printed catalog pic of this Coach item. Thank you!

Your pictures aren't sharp enough to really see everything but I'm seeing several things that lead me to believe it is fake.
